Diablo sport settings?

Recommended Posts

my dad just got this programmer for his 03 1500HD, what settings do you guys recommend? he wants more performance off the line. he thinks its WAAAAYYY too sluggish right now.. (a honda beat him off the line, that should tell you how sluggish this thing is..) he's done a few mods to it, the Flowmaster 50 series muffler with dual in/dual out. and a K&N FIPK II. they helped some.. but not really. Any help?

First of all, I think a Honda will beat most trucks (or at least HD's) off the line, trucks are big and heavy, tell your dad not to be upset, he'll catch them. I just got my Predator so I'm still playing with it but this is what I've done so far. You know he has to load the performance program first and then make changes to it, right? I didn't do two programs (normal and performance), I didn't want to have to push the Tow/Haul button in when I want more power (performance mode). All my settings are the same, shift rpms, shift firmness, shift quickness, etc. I don't know where a 6.0L shifts at normally but I raised my shifts to, 1-2 at 5910, 2-3 at 5860 and 3-4 left stock (5200). MY shifts stock were 1-2 at 5600 and 5200 for all others, my truck pulls good up to "about" 5900 but left 2-3 a little lower than than. Have him play with the shifts, try about 200-250 rpm's above stock, if 1-2 shifts at 5200m try 5450 or so and see if it pulls well up to then, then adjust. I have my "spark" setting for +2% right now (advances timing), I adjust it a little (.3% increments) at a time and then use the "live data" mode to check for KR (pinging) at WOT. From my inderstanding you want 0.00% KR at WOT, increase the "spark" until you get some KR then back it off to the last point where no KR appeared. I think my truck is running a tad rich so I leaned it about by lowering my "power enhancement" by -.5%. The shifts I have set for the quickest and hardest shift, -25% for quickness (- reduces shift times) and +25% for shift firmess (+ increase line pressure). That's all Ive done so far, but it's made a big difference, my truck has chirped 2nd gear a few times shifting. I like the Predator because you can use the "live data" mode to check things out and see where you can adjust things or put things back if you've over adjusted, etc.

we didn't program it, some guy did, and i don't know if he did it right.. i'll restore factory settings and then load it the right way...

You can go into tuning and into the parameters and see what they are set at, I think it says "view parameters" and "set parameters". When I loaded the performance tuing and checked what the shifts were set at, they were all 5200, way to low. The "power enhancment" and "spark" will be at 0.00%, you'll have to adjust those. The shifts will be at 0.00% also, - the shift times and + the shift firmness for the quickess and firmest shifts. Or put them where you want obviously, I started about out slow then moved them to the settings I have now. The Predator's good because you can set the parameters you want, then checked them out and adjust if needed. Be sure to follow the instructions carefully, all electrical off.

i redid the thing with some of the settings you gave me, but I adjusted first gear a bit cause his stock 1st to 2nd was 5200 not 5600 like yours. But IMHO it seemed a LOT faster than it use to be, but he can't tell the difference?! I can definately tell there's alot more UMPH to it. oh well..
