Went ahead and upgraded the steering the last week. Got a cover from EastDetailing (link below)($88). It did take about four hours actually stitch it together. Also added a CF trim piece from Ebay to complete the look (link below). Total cost was $110. Got more photos on my Instagram @PureZ71. Thanks!

What is all involved with the installation? That looks really nice and fit. I'm interested in getting one as well to protect my steering wheel.

Its pretty easy. I followed BlueBoss's guide. It use double sided tape (given in the kit) to place the cover. Then start stitching

Swapped out the chrome lug nuts for OEM black lug nuts. Think they look so much better especially on a silver truck. Hoping they hold up over time. lugnutchrome.thumb.jpg.2f36acbd3878f0c0b4888c30f9538a53.jpglugnutsblack.thumb.jpg.c887910c47f503f070e651d1609ee1f2.jpglugnutblk1.thumb.jpeg.761db2d5a08cc50299fb3e6573baa5f1.jpeglugnutblk2.thumb.jpeg.ca790c79909501f2743346b21f657951.jpeg

Haha! Although it is something small, it makes a big difference in my opinion. Even when I first bought the truck I could not stand the chrome lug nuts. I just hope the black GM ones hold up. Looks good!

  • 2 weeks later...

So, I did this a few days ago, but thought I’d post here while I had time. I’m not finished yet.

I did the high country soft touch dash with all the leather and synthesis upgrades. GM screwed me on part number 84649074, but that’ll be here Tuesday (Monday is Labor Day); and once I get my new custom steering wheel, I’ll put it all together.

Yes, I even did the soft touch dash top ($285 plus free shipping on eBay), and it’s in perfect condition. The only blemish is on the upper compartment box, also leather.

If necessary, I can do a write up with step by step instructions.

In addition, I have ordered a carbon fiber/perforated leather, custom, flat-bottom steering wheel to tie the carbon accents I’ve started adding, the black seat covers with red stitching, and the leather dashboard together.

Once my old parts sell (they’re in mint condition!), I’ll be adding the center jump seat with top and bottom storage (with lock), and I have carbon fiber plates for the top of that, too.

Steering wheel is estimated to ship from overseas on Tuesday.

I will be posting completed photos of the interior once I finish assembly sometime in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned.

I have attached photos of some parts as a sneak peak….some parts are still in the works.
