115,000 Mile Service

Sugar Bear's 5K OCI (4,326 actual) 114,455 miles.

2015 GMC Terrain 2.4L

Used 1-1/2 quarts. That's a quart in 2,884 miles.

Black as tar. White snot in the rocker box. Lots of free water in the air box. Looks like we have a case of the infamous 2.4L PCV vent system orifice failure. At the shop for a intensive diagnostic. And we were making such nice progress. Last change was under a cup in 5K and we just changed to AMSOIL.

115,000 Mile Service

2015 GMC Terrain 2.4 I4

114,600 actual, 4,471 OCI

5 Quarts NAPA 5W30 Full Synthetic (Valvoline) Used 1-1/2 quarts on this OCI, plugged PCV system.

NAPA 57082 filter

Build thread (Sugar Bear) has the details of this service...two fill and dumps after extensive top end service. Not putting the $$$ oil in her until I know she won't toss it out the pipe faster than I can pour it in the motor.  :)

Wait and see mode for now.

Oh it's crossed my mind but I have a problem that keeps me from dumping it. A conscience. :)  It's responding to treatment.

Used the GM liquid product and scrapping for the valves. Drill bit for the orifice. More GM down the spark plug holes. Sat a day. The got it hot and used a can of Gunk Motor Flush and two quick oil changes. So far it has slowed consumption down measurably and has restored her pep and fuel efficiency. Perfect? No. But much better.

This Terrain has had it's oil changed on 5K OCI's and Techron in the tank every oil change. I've shortened the OCI's and the injectors were really good as it was. I'm pretty happy over all.
