I replaced it. Brought this rig up from Nevada so the filter and just about everything else was pretty dusty. No rust so I’ll take that trade any day.

No 4xE, just a regular 4x4.

Great! Gotcha.  Says E up in data sheet. 3.6L ? Or 5.7?

You have the VOA for this lot? Silicon?

How many miles on this sample?

Unfortunately I do not, it was installed before I owned the vehicle. 2000.

Ah! Well, just looking at available samples online seems 2 to 6 ppm is the usual "S" background. 8 isn't a bell ringer. But changing it wasn't a bad idea or wasted money. Something we do when we get one we don't know the entire history of. I've got Dyson results here where 9 was marked up green with a "Well Done", and some RL samples where 10-20 ppm is part of the antifoam chemistry. I can't imagine what can be gleaned from a single point of data (no trend) without a reference sample (no background), no resample.

I mainly sampled to take a peek at the wear metals and make sure nothing was eating itself in there. 😆

I don’t use that specific oil anyway, so its composition and performance isn’t really relevant. Aside from being a little curious of course!
