At least you put the plug in before you filled it :)

The TBN/TAN numbers in this post are for the diesel in the last post, correct?

No, for the 1.4 turbo in my daughters Cruze.

Did you use a different oil this time or was there a formulation change? (Large Calcium/Magnesium ratio change)

This is a new oil from AMSOIL for my application.  It came out with the new oil for the 3.0 diesel in the 1500's.  It seems it is a really good oil and cleans really well.  My nitration has never been so low in a long time.

DIZZY

2015 GMC Terrain

Ecotec 2.4-I4

2,000 mile OCI

151,877 mile actual

14 ounce of makeup oil this interval for a usage rate of 1qt : 4,571 miles

Very close to last change. No worse is good.

4.21875 quarts Kirkland 5W30

27 ounces TRIAX S-7 This is a 5:1 ring cleaning ratio

No filter change. With such short OCI's about ever third change will be just fine.

Book may say 5 quart capacity but it takes a bit more to reach the full mark.

6 ounces of makeup oil. Quart in about 8.6K. 0.074% of fuel.

5 quarts Kirkland 5W30 only.

Shorter OCI's due to viscosity loss caused by fuel dilution.   UOA in build thread.

This is my first UAO on my 21 Sierra 6.2. Bought a couple of the Napa kits, analysis was done by ALS labs.

Total miles on the truck 5890 with oil/filter changes at 700, 2800 and 3044 using Mobil 1 AFE 0w-20  and Purolator Pure 1 filter.

Dennis, do they offer FTIR, KF water testing, and GC fuels dilute?  I know ALS can run them but wondering if they would for you.  That 2 ppm of Cr is ring alloy and should not be above 1 ppm for this engine even at low miles.  Might be worth it to get those readings even if it costs a few bucks.
