2019 GMC Sierra SLT 6.2L quick thoughts

My only "mod" will be the mirrortap and blendmount when they come available for my Max 360 radar detector.  And I haven't found a bed cover yet.  I had an Extang solid fold 2.0 on my last trucks and liked it.  Also have to schedule some window tint.  I admit I am pretty boring.  I don't do lift kits or wheels and tires.

Nothing wrong with boring or keeping a truck stock.

Tinkering here and there on your truck without breaking the bank is something to look forward to.

I think within the first few hours I had mine, the plate light bulbs were swapped out with the whiter Led's for under $20

Regarding the license plate bulbs I initially purchased a set of cheapo repo LEDs. Atter a while they seemed dimmer so replaced them with Philips Ultinon White LEDs.  Literally night and day difference in output. Ran $17 or so at Pep Boys.

I had great luck with the Sylvania Zevo's in my plate lights.

Around same price as you paid. Quick 5 min. install....

New member to the forum. Just purchased a 2019 GMC Sierra SLT with the 6.2 motor on Friday. On Sunday, I initialized On Star and got a message saying "Demo mode turned off". Afterwards, my navigation stopped working. Now I get a notification of "SD card error". I spoke to the service department and they're saying it could be a module, but he's never seen this error. I'm asking them to order a new GM SD Map card to try. Still waiting to hear back from then. It's been 2 days.

Another member had the same issue, dealer told him the SD card should be in a baggie in the glove box.  I believe the only SD card slot is in the center console, do you have a SD card there?

Yes, mine has a GM Maps SD card installed. If you remove the the SD card, my navigation system will say "Loading Maps". It then says "SD card removed". When I reinsert the SD card, it says "SD Card Error - card is not functioning properly"

It is much smoother than I thought it would be. This truck starts smoother than my last 3 trucks have. However, there was one time the truck tried to go into auto stop mode and I released the brake and the truck simultaneously tried to start the truck as it was shutting off and it made a terrible noise as if you were starting a car that was already started.

 

I usually just turn it off when I start the truck now.
