Sierra HUD vs Polarized Shades

Recommended Posts

Just kinda curious, I love the announcement of the HUD in the Sierra, but one question lingers for me around that, what happens when I put a pair of Maui Jim’s/Ray Bans that are polarized. Would I still be able to see the HUD? Living in sunny climates, polarized glasses are a must, it would be a bummer if you had to wear non polarized ones or none to see the HUD.

My wife has a colored HUD in her Tahoe RST. Its very dificult to see the HUD with high quality Polarized sunglasses. I highly doubt they've made a significant break through in their HUD tech to resolve the polarized sunglasses issue....

I wear polarized sunglasses in the car unless its dark and I wont be adding the check mark next to the HUD option (unless is comes in a package I cant avoid) due to the sunglasses issue..

Not sure about the new trucks, or a color HUD for that matter, however I have the HUD in my 2013 Camaro.  I wear prescription polarized sunglasses and can see it with no problem.  I will have to test drive one with HUD and my sunglasses before deciding on whether or not to check that box.
