Old Habits Die Hard!

Recommended Posts

I’ve helped over 1000+ members with mirror upgrades and have hand built over 2000 door harnesses over the course of 2 years. I’ve had a 98% success rate with only 10 customers that experience problems.

Today, this one stumped me.

2015 Sierra, WT, 4” Radio. Passenger side didn’t fold after upgrading from DL8 to DL3.

After doing some digging, I learned that the truck was 1/2 way wired for Seat Memory [emoji15] but not really. Like they change the wiring config mid way through the manufacturing build. Seat Memory is only an option on SLT/Denali, so how it started on this truck is beyond me.

As the gremlins continue to surface, I’ll be around to wack a mole and find solutions.

Needless to say, I implemented a work around and got him fixed to.

Here is his truck.

Dash Swap
Center Console Upgrade
DL8 - DL3 Mirror Upgrade

I had 5 more months in my ‘15 All Terrain lease and was waiting for the ‘19 AT4 to hit the lots. I loved my ‘15 so much I even contemplated just buying it out. I wasn’t sold on the new body style anyway. With the deals they had going last month and financing rates I couldn’t pass it up and got an ‘18 All Terrain. I couldn’t be happier. Plus, with the ‘18 I no longer have to light the candle headlights before going out in the evening!

Wow! I don’t have anxiety issues but seeing those photos puts me on edge. Especially since I don’t modify much. I’m too chicken! Like Sierra Dan said “hats off to you”.

How is this dash swap coming along Phil?

My dash Swap was done a couple of months ago. That dash swap I pic I posted was from a local Texas guy that came to me for the swap along with some other upgrades.

Feedback from the 2019 owners here have been positive, despite lackluster media reviews.

Seem to be reading of several K2 owners jumping ship to either Ram or Ford :loser:

I actually test drove a 2019 yesterday.  It was an LTZ with a 5.3L, nice truck.  Not in love with the front end or the badging.  However the ride was better than my 2017.  Seemed to be less bouncy in the rear and handled corners a little better.  Also liked all the bells and whistles, but it is an LTZ and mine is an LT so not comparing equal trim levels.   I only got to drive it for 20 minutes, but overall I was impressed.  However I wouldn't pay full retail for any vehicle, and everyone around here that has 2019's want close to full retail.

As far as the 2019 ram goes, my buddy has a 2019 rebel.  It is a very nice truck.  However he has already had it in the shop twice.  He had problems with the Uconnect and also the AC is terrible.  He has owned the truck for about a month and it has been in the shop for a week of that.  He has not been thrilled with it.  Also to add insult to injury my 5.3L beat that hemi in a race lol!  Of course I am running E85 and have cold air intake and exhaust.  I didn't tell him I was running E85, he is still trying to figure out how he lost.  I do like the looks of his truck though, and it does ride very nice.  Still wouldn't jump ship to a dodge though.  Ford maybe, but my dad would probably disown me

Great input Toby.

You are adding to the consensus here with other owners of 2019 T1s.

They are reporting better rides than K2.

As far as the Ram report....no surprise there.

I still think it is lipstick on a pig!

.. just purchased my 18 less than 1 month ago so I'll be around and active for a long time to come.. sorry I just cannot get into the styling of the 19s.. if you ever Google image search the Chinese automotive clones the 19s are exactly what I would expect a Chinese clone of an F150 to look like.. no originality at all.. very disappointed.. now the 18 Silverado - well that's just plain sexy!:D

Im still new to this forum, but not new to these trucks, and I can tell you that I will be around for a while.

I had a 2015 CCRB 1500 that I put on an exhaust, whipple supercharger, lowering kit, etc.  That car was fun but too much gas, weird shifting and around town drivability made me know that I wanted to replace it.  I took one look at that 2019 and knew I had to get rid of the 2015 now and pick up the 2018...
