Old Habits Die Hard!

Intend to stay in my 2015 All Terrain for at least another year and a half.  Like the 2019's but not the pricing.  Once the new wears off and prices come down a bunch will consider buying a T1.

I'll be sticking with my 16 for awhile. I want to go to a Duramax, but will wait for the next gen to be released and out for a couple of years before I start thinking about getting one.

I'll be here a while as well.  I bought my '15 w/ 1642 miles on it.  I briefly thought about trading it in on an '18 when I saw the '19 (no offense meant to anyone, but IMHO -  :puke:), but there wasn't enough gain there for me to justify the additional cost.  I personally love the styling of the K2s and plan on driving it until as long as possible, hence the rustproofing I had done.  Never had a vehicle I kept until 200k miles, but that's my goal with this one!

I think that might be the general consensus on the 2019's. At least with some of us Loyal GM guys.  NOT enough improvement or Gain for the extra money or payments.

You are getting a redesigned body for the most part. Yes, the frame, cool new tailgates, trailering systems etc are great, but not for an additional average of about 5k over what we have now.

Especially with an interior that went from good/nice to plain and mundane.

I'm also "late to the party" with buying a new 2018 as my first K2.  I have so much to catch up on!  The good news is, this community has done all the hard work, figuring out mods and repairs, so in many cases, a search will pull up the info I'm seeking.

I remember when the K2s first came out, I thought, why would you want to buy a 900 at that time?  But, when I found myself shopping for a truck, just ahead of T1s arriving at the dealers, I simply had no lust for a T1 at all.  I just wanted a big discount on an "old" new truck.

I’m in a similar boat. I’d like to possibly upgrade during T1xx mid cycle refresh which should be 2021 if its 2 years in like k2xx refresh. The issue is I’ll then see what my 3 - 4 year old truck is worth and will probably just keep driving it!

On the other hand these seem to hold good value the first few years. Especially if you purchased for 10k+ off MSRP.

it will be paid off by then and may not want another payment!

Glad to see there will be some people around.

I got the truck of my dreams with my 2015 Silverado. Great looks, insane power, great gas mileage, the works. I won't find another truck I love more than mine.

Looking forward to more discussions

I regularly check this forum as well.   I hope to refresh my '15 to an '18 with the intention of buying a heavier trailer. Money is not a renewable resource when retired so such purchases take extra consideration!    This forum has validated my perception that this has been a fabulous generation of trucks.  The efficiency, comfort and build of these trucks will keep them on the roads for decades to come.

i bought my '14 2 years ago and have no plans on getting a new truck any time soon....  honestly... my wife would KILL me if i got a new truck after all the time (and $$) i've spent modding the '14.  and like others have mentioned... what were they thinking with these new '19s??   yuck!! i don't mind the gmc, but that chevy front end is just gross in my opinion and i don't ever really see it 'growing' on me.  it's kinda like how i LOVE the 88-99 gm trucks, then a big nope for 00-13, then an 'oh yea baby!!' for 14-18, then back to a nope and i think i just puked a little in my mouth for the 19s.

heck... i still have my '89 chevy that i bought in 1997.  i figure once the kids are old enough to drive (they are only 3 and 5) i'll go back to my '89 2-seater so i won't need to be a personal taxi!  ha! ha!  just need to figure out how to retro fit the current seats into my old truck.  man i love the seats in my '14!
