With the stock 18x8.5, the widest size tire you could put on it would be a 12.50.  That being, you should be able to fit 35x12.50 tires on the AT4 without lifting it at all, as long as you use the stock rims.  There may be a slight rub at full lock.  If it does slightly rub and you don't like the rub, just level the truck with any available kit ($60) and you should be all set.

I would be very concerned stacking a 2” leveling kit on top of the OEM 2” “leveling” kit. The ball joint a d steering angles won’t like it at all. Even Rough Country says that’s a no-no.

As the factory uses same control arms and steering components it is built with just a leveling kit. I realize the axles and shocks are different but angles on arms and steering present a problem.

Also, NOT wanting to argue but I would bet large the AT4 or TB will fit 35s on OEM factory wheels. My AT4 is not built yet but I would be THRILLED if 35s fit with OEM 18” wheels. I just don’t see there being enough room, not even close. FWIW, RC says 33s max out a stock AT4/TB with OEM wheels.

Well I've already posted a photo of 35's on the 20" rim above. For sure they fit....

There are several members on here already with leveling kits on their Trailboss/AT4s and I have heard of no issues so far but they can chime in on this.

Also, there are a handful of Trailboss/AT4 owners out there that are running 35x12.50s on stock rims with no issues

I’ve seen that blue truck and the post but didn’t realize it was yours. I read it as if it’s a picture from a guy who knows a guy, who has a cousin…

What tires are they and exact sizing? I didn’t realize somebody in the discussion had actually fit them on their own truck.  No articulation or turning issues?

As I want 35’s on OEM 18’s this would be great.

It's not mine. But I sent a message to the shop that did it, and they confirmed no trimming and that they fit.

I don't have mine yet. It will be white though and I'll have the dealer swap the stock Duratracs for 35s.

I've no doubt they'll bolt on fine but I still believe the steering and ball joint/control arm angles will be outside of acceptable design specs and cause wear, performance and alignment issues.

I would think Rough Country is not happy losing sales and money telling people to not buy/install their 2" kit on the AT4/TB.  Especially since they have it sitting on the shelf ready to go so no investment needed in design/development cost.

And again, FWIW, I'm not being negative it's the engineer in me questioning some of these issues.  Lots of things will bolt on/fit, however, static fitment is far different than proper functioning in dynamic situations.

These two posts are exactly what I'm talking about.  I've read every single post in every T1 forum/sub-forum and I've not identified a single ACTUAL person who has one of these trucks and has installed 35's on either 18" or 20" OEM wheels, or aftermarket wheels either for that matter, on a stock truck.

Calling some shop over the phone and having them say, "yeah, we did it" or a general statement that a number of guys have done it is not confidence inspiring or definitive enough for me to place an order for tires

If actual owners have done this I missed their post(s).  I've even read through each thread twice to double check with no luck identifying a forum member(s) who has done it.  Can someone point me in the direction of an ACTUAL truck owner or forum post by an ACTUAL owner who has fitted 35's on a stock truck that is in their possession?

I posted previously that Rough Country stated they have/had an ACTUAL truck in their possession and the largest tire that fits is a 285/65/18. or corresponding tire on a 20" wheel.  Rough Country SPECIFICALLY states 35's don't fit on stock AT4/TB trucks.

Thanks in advance.

Rick

Rick,

Here is a forum post with more info.  Maybe they can chime in with some more info, but it has been done by several owners already (even though some may not go on the forums like us).  Icon also leveled a stock Silverado and fit 35s on stock rims.

I will get the exact tire size from the shop for you. They ACTUALLY had the truck in their shop, and ACTUALLY put the tires on it....

"35x12.5x20 fuel MT is what we used.. the thing you need watch is the side lug and how big it is.."

Above is quoted text regarding the tires. They fit with NO RUBBING.

So I don't know what RC is talking about.

I GREATLY appreciate you guys taking the time to help and educate me.  Your patience is such a nice departure from other forums I frequent.  Responders on other forums would be attacking me for calling them "liars".

Your maturity in realizing I'm just trying to get information and fitment confirmation is really appreciated.

Thanks to all participating!

No worries. I'm in the same boat as you anyway. I am going to have the dealer swap over the stock Duratracs for 35" Duratracs on the stock 18" rim, and the last thing I want, is to rip the fender right off while turning. Hahaha!!

Good luck and post photos once you get your truck!

Question. With the factory lift GM says that they will reconfigure the front camera and electronic power steering calibration so that all driver assist programs operate seamlessly. Can anyone chime in if this is just a software update, basically a recalibration process, or if they have to go in and manually tweek sensors and camera? I am thinking about putting on a small lift when I get the truck/when the lifts are available and was wondering if these could be done by the shop when completed or if I would need Chevy to do it or do you think it will be even necessary.

I imagine the AT4/Trail Boss is already calibrated from factory. So are you asking if you got a non-AT4 or Trail Boss, and installed a lift, would they re-calibrate?

Correct. Say High Country. GM's approved 2 inch lift comes with the recalibration and camera re position but if I decided to go with something a little higher than that do you think those could be changed maybe via a recalibration reset that a person/non GM shop, need to have GM do it or not really a issue to worry about.

Thanks
