Disappointed with 2019

Recommended Posts

It's one thing to have an issue with your truck, it's another to be so blatenly ignorant as to what truck buyers want.

I feel like GM could have hired me as a decision maker and I could have easily gotten them 20% more sales.

Ever see America’s Got Talent? A guy said he was better than Howie as a judge, gave him a chance and failed miserably. You’re going to have complaints coming and going into each and every manufacturer. Best to just get over it, do your own mods like most of us to personalize our vehicles, it’s easy and if that doesn’t make you happier then local bar or therapist may just do it.

Looking at the pictures above, the interior looks rushed and cheap with lots of black plastic on a top of the line model.  Maybe GM can hire the interior design team away from Ram, they know how to design an interior for sure...

Believe me, Ram has got their own issues as do all manufacturers but back to the new truck, I’m disappointed as well, especially with the drivetrain and does nothing better than the 18’s. A buddy of mine just tuned his 2018 6.2 and it’s a beast!

I agree. I stopped by a dealer to take a look. The only trim they had on the lot was a top of the line High Country. The exterior is always subjective. I couldn't care less about a carbon fiber bed or the bigger bumper steps. The electric swinging side steps were kinda cool, but I see that being one of the first things to break.

The interior was a big let down. The seats actually seemed more stiff than my 15. The center stack looked less impressive, probably because they eliminated many of the buttons or made them smaller so there looks like more plastic space.

One of the first things I noticed was the area under the steering wheel looks like it came out of a 99 Jeep liberty. It's nearly vertical and just a giant piece of plastic.

The High Country did have a sunroof, but it was small and the real estate it took up in the back seat roof to allow it to slide was way too much for an average adult to be in the back.

My main point to stop and look was that the backseat was supposed to be bigger. It maybe bigger but it didn't seem like it. Trucks all have that under the seat storage now which to me is a waste b/c I want a flat floor so the dogs can ride in the back seat.

The in seat back storage is really a joke if you have kids, the car seats will be in the way.eb8b41be7629a3eb323617d080246667.jpga29b26201d1cac7ede586b6a71cb62c9.jpga80daeef8d5d2c90a6cc513768c31b08.jpgcef55e50aceb25feaed2724e40b66121.jpg

To each his own, but..I 100% have to disagree with you on the backseat and overall cabin space. I am 6’5” 285lbs and have two long legged kids. When the drivers seat is positioned where I need it to drive I can easily sit behind in the backseat and my knees are very clear of the back of the drivers seat. The headroom in it is phenomenal also. I am able to raise my seat really high and see over the huge front end on the new rigs (honestly I like sitting up high not down in a hole).

The tailgate step has come in extra handy around the hunting lease getting in and out of the back of the truck putting corn out or accessing the toolbox. It also makes as a great seat when folded all the way out without your legs having to hang off the gate.

I am running 34” tall 11” wide tires with a 2” level and no rubbing at all.

I’ll be interested to see how quickly the tune changes when a few of these guys get leveled and out on the road. The off-road and after market tire guys will likely lose a little business due to the trucks coming with a 33” tall tire on them.

Cheers,

Congratulations on your new truck. I think it’s great you can get that leveled from manufacturer, though it only costs anyone interested in leveling approx $200-$500 depending on DIY or Shop install. The 33” tires coming from manufacturers are not really counted as aftermarket type of tires, cheapest bid tires, so therefore you cannot compare any of those tires to KO2’s or Nitto Ridge Grapplers. In addition, ALL stock shock are crap which means you’re looking at upgrading the shocks too. I love that that’s an option (pre-leveled), but that shouldn’t be a factor considering the price difference. Isn’t it a $2k + option to level from manufacturer?

I did not get a sunroof. I’ve had them in previous trucks and literally never open them. Nice feature if you use them but mine doesn’t have one.

I think that was a good call. The sun roof in the HC is like and older style that slides into a pocket inside the headliner of the backseat. Whereas the F150 has a retractable screen leaving much more head room.

Man, I really like my 2015 and would like to upgrade to a 2019. I just can’t do the interior. The interior in these trucks is atrocious when you compare it to the new Ram. Might be awhile until I upgrade, the Ram reliability just isn’t there.

I agree with 2,4,6 &7 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

These trucks are already expensive enough. Adding a Panoramic Sunroof would only make things worse.

Who really needs an entire Roof of Glass? Maybe if you ever rolled a vehicle over, it would change your mind.

Poor people don't have to check the option box.

Im sure you could have. But unfortunately they will make more profit with the way they did it and that’s what they are after. Which is sad. I feel the same way as you though as well.
