Disappointed with 2019

Recommended Posts

My brother had a 14 Tundra with the biggest cab and I had my 15 5.3 truck, a bunch of us went to Canada, about 900 mile one way trip.   So of course we had to see which one was faster and my 5.3 ccsb 4x4 would blow him away from 55-60 on up until whatever, quite a few times, and my truck was loaded with more stuff.  Furthermore, his truck would barely make it 300 miles on a tank and I still had between an 1/8 and a 1/2 a tank when we stopped.

My brother in law had a 14 tundra, then a 15 Ram. My 14 GMC out ran both on E-85. The Tundra I was referring to was an 08 single cab TRD factory backed blown 5.7 you could buy from the dealer. Don’t know if the program is still offered. Interesting on the same top ten list the mid sized Toyota p/u was on the list also blown with a V-6. The high country, lightning, V-10 Ram, Syclone, Chevy SS, Raptor, Tremor.

Your truck must run like a raped ape.

Blown crew max Tundras put down 460+ rwhp and run the quarter in 13 flat / 106 mph on 33s...which is about what tuned and Procharged 5.3L Silverado’s run.

0-60-1/4 mile. It was a factory backed TRD package with a blower.

That kind of stuff really isn't that important anymore.  All the 1/2 ton trucks will do 0-60 under 8 seconds now.  Save for the eco diesel from Dodge which is still in the 9 second range.

Thanks for the highly informative thread. I especially like the mature intelligent changes to my phone.

On another thread, they're saying the "complimentary" oil changes went from 4 to 2 to now 1 on a new purchase? Can anyone confirm?

I got two free oil changes from GM on my 14,16,18 year models.

4 free oil changes with my CPO purchase.

GM is obviously cutting perks with reduced services and trial offers across the board.

It adds up quick when you compound the thousands of vehicles with freebies.

The cuts either pad their pocket more.....

Are helping them innovate for the future or simply avoid another meltdown as in '08

From what I can tell, GM is only including 1 now, but many dealers are still doing their own complimentary, so that's a plus. There are a few dealers within a few hours of me that are doing the oil change/inspection/warranty for life as long as they do all the servicing.

When I bought my 2018 last month the dealer was only doing 2 free oil changes. Really sucks to see GM start to cut back again when it seems the competition is offering up a bit more.

The other thing that bugs me is the elimination of free basic OnStar. I liked the remote start at least for winter months with it. Mine expires next month so when I spoke to cancel the one for our Traverse since we got lucky buying my wife’s Traverse in April she gets 5 years free basic still, it sounded like I can possible y get basic for even less than the 9.99 a month if I got the right rep.

the exterior has grown on me.... but unless they do a mid life overhaul of the interior in the next couple years im moving into a ram.
Please tell me you will overlook the aesthetics for the current model versus switching to a rattle trap. Everyone I know that has owned a recent ram, has had nothing but problems with them. Theres a reason you get a high country esk ram for the price of a WT.
