Managed to fit 33" tires -44 offset wheels on a 2.5 level

Hey guys I saw a bunch of people on random threads asking how the commonly popular-44 offset wheels with 33" tires fit with a level. So I figured I'd share my experience.

 

I did a simple rough country 2.5 inch Level with the 1 inch rear block. Looked great and was happy with results. Originally I had stock 20" wheels with duratrac 275/65/20. Pic below

 

I ordered TIS Offroad 544bm 20x12 -44 offset wheels. Wrapped with Fury Country Hunter M/T 33x12.5x20. absolutely loved it. I wanted ridge grapplers but the price was already getting up there and I was on a budget. I will so I was extremely pleased with the look when I received them.

 

Installing... Was interesting non the less. Take in mind I was doing all this in the pouring rain all day because my patience level for the next day install was long gone once I had them in hand.

 

I knew I was going to do alot of shaving to make this work so I watched custom offsets video that they posted that was a 2015 Silverado 1500 Norcal trim. It didn't looked extremely hard without a simple electric grinder and hammer. First I removed the front airdam. Wasn't fond of it anyway. That alone gave clearance in the front. The back side front tire is what required all the work. I took off the carpet inside the fenderwall and unbolted the backside fender flare. Trimmed the stock fender flare so the curve was all the way to the end when originally it was L shaped going into the wheel well. I wish I took pictures but all I ended up really cutting and shaving was this l shaped piece of metal. It was the only thing popped out I could see that if I removed would give me almost an inch of clearance. Hammered and ginded everything a bit so it was flush and smooth. Painted over the top of it all to help prevent future rust. After I bolted everything back up and all screw holes were kept except 2 on each side. Then I simply used self tapper screws and that pressed the carpet inlay back a solid inch. Put the tires on and tested. I have a small rub still I'll admit but it's just the tire lightly rubbing the carpet. Not hitting any metal no horrible sound just a very light rub sound. I think if I send a few more screws in with washers I bet it would go away. In the end I'll say it looks fantastic. No vibration. No ride comfort change. A bit more high. Definitely sticks out a solid 2.5 inches from stock fender flare. Pictures don't really do justice. I'm overall extremely happy with results and well worth some light shavings that noone will ever see. I still need to come up with something to cover the plastic from where I cut the fender flare. Will post some end result photos. I also need to take it all off again anyway soon to do rotors any day so when I do I'll snap some pics of what it looks like behind carpet.

It's just the picture giving it that look. The tire is actually over rim by just a bit. Enough to when I got them I could lay it face down and the tire only touched the ground.
