The prices will keep going up because society keeps buying.  Take a stand and refuse to  purchase things will change but it isn't going to happen.  Kind of like cell phones.  People don't care and will pay $1,000 for a phone because they must have it.  Really?  Values, it is all on what one's perception is on what they want and what they are willing to pay.  The manufactures know this and are betting they will sell.

The old supply and demand theory. Very true indeed.

Obviously enough, trucks are hot now due to lower average fuel prices.

This can change very quick as we have seen in the past.

I unloaded my '05 Avalanche when gas hit $3.98 a gallon.

From what has been posted on here, GMT, the rear axle, front axle and suspension as well as the body frame and such all have been redesigned.  So it isn't just a looks thing.  Like the extra air foil on the back of the cab to allow air to flow better over the bed.  Side mirrors were moved more than likely for wind noise and aerodynamics.  Loosing 450lbs of weight is a good thing.  The hood latch I'm sure is a "special" grade plastic that flexes but will not brake over use.  Besides us, the average person never opens the hood anyway.  Just the service department of the local oil change place.

When they got rid of the under hood light, there was all kinds of flax being said how it was stupid and such.  Same with glove box light.  It will all pass and be forgotten.

Now the interior, I agree is less than fancy or even much of a change from the current truck. The instrument cluster could have been larger in my opinion.  Us old folks eyes are not what they use to be.  The entire layout really didn't change and to me if you are going to do a redesign you need to change it out, not just refresh it.

Not to get to much off topic, but there is a range for everything.  I'll never pay $1000 for a cellphone but was able to get a pretty decent one for a few hundred.   You can get new vehicles for 15, new trucks for 25 or the sky is the limit.

I struggle with if I even care if GM has some of the high end options Ford and Ram has because I won't have all of them GM has, so what do I care if there are more?  Most of the internet outrage over the GM interior can't afford a new truck and if they can they won't be buying the 60-75k ones.  Does it make them feel better to want a truck that has the capability of doing something they would t experience?

I would have thought that Ram or Chevy would have been the first to do an all LED gauge cluster.  When the Ram came out they missed that one and thought, possibly, that Chevy would grow a pair and something cool like that.  Oh well, I bet Ford will do it when they redesign the F-150 since the Mustang offers it.  Any trim below High Country (not sure what comes in LTZ) looks slightly better than my 2011 LT dash.

Anything 2014 or newer is a significant leap over the 2011s.

yea they dropped the ball on the interior big time.

And the exterior.  The entire truck is ugly (and this comes from a life-long Chevy driver).

For the first time ever I am considering a Sierra but even the dash of that one is hideous.  What designer thought it would look good to make the center of the dash look like it is birthing a baby??

2015 Silverado.  Even the dash of this one is not great looking but at least the colors work together.  The dashes on the 2019's look like the designers just threw a bunch of stuff at the dash.

I've only sat in a LT truck with a center console and I liked it a lot and felt it was a pretty decent upgrade.  While there are things I like more in the k2xx interior, overall the 19 is a step up.  Check them out on the lots, a lot of people will change their mind.

That goes for the exterior too.  This attitude of "my current vehicle is better than this trash" happens with every new vehicle from every manufacturer. By next year people will love them but haters will still always talk trash.

I don't have an attitude that my current truck is better than this one -- I just don't like the design.  I am very practical and all the curves, edges, embossing will just collect dirt and be harder to clean.  And GM advertises that they have more bed volume but some of that is from raising the sidewalls.  I load and unload my truck a couple times a day and don't want to have to lift things over a high bed floor or sidewalls.  Do that a few times a day every day and you will appreciate that previous GM's have low bed and step-in heights.

I have looked that them on lots and at various reveals before they were being shipped.  In my opinion they are even worse in person.  I just feel like GM cut some young designers loose and didn't talk to people who use their trucks every day.  They went after the younger millennial crowd and didn't listen to long-time truck owners.

To each his own.  I know "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" so some people will like this design and some won't.  Just because some of us don't agree with the design doesn't make us bad or haters.  I have been fine with every GM truck design up to this one so I don't hate them, I just feel they took a step backwards.

FORD has managed to be the #1 in sales with a tall truck bed.

Go for a GMC Pro Tailgate and gain easier access to the bed that way.

Just do NOT lower the gate with a receiver hitch in!

I just sat in a 2019 denali and the interior was no way near what you should get in a 67k truck.  Its more black plastic then tbe previous interior. The only aluminum is around the infotainment screen. My 2014 has aluminum around side vents and center console cop holders. The 2019 is just cheap black vinyl all over the dash.  They even removed ambient led lights from behind the door handles. Also the seats look horrible appears more vinyl content than before.  I love the exterior of the truck but the interior is going to keep me from buying another GMC in 2 years unless the mid cycle refresh completely redesigned the interior which I really doubt. Gm has gone back to there cheap crap interiors of the past.   It is amazing how they went so cheap on the interior and other areas on their #1 selling profit maker. I have always been a Gm guy but its going to be a ram or ford in 2 years unless an emergency redesign comes along.  I am extremely impressed with the ram interior different materials like aluminum wood and leather covering the doors, dash, console and even the a pillar grab handles are leather.  The seats are even leather in the ram.  GM is only putting a low grade leather in the inserts of their seats.

A bit off topic but How's your 2014 holding up?

The 2019 interiors are not as nice as the K2s for sure.

The GMC dealer i got my truck from has a 2019 Denali ultimate at 71k and my 14 SLT premium

Is nicer. The denali seats seem more of a pleather material.

The Denali does have factory all weather floormats, and they are nice form fitting.
