The High Country and black Trailboss are great looking trucks. The Trailboss doesn't do it for me in red, not bad in white but black looks natural on it. The High Country looks great in every color I've seen it so far. I'm fairly indifferent on LTZ and midlevel trims, they look fine.

I'm a lifelong GM guy and these things couldn't be less buyer appealling in my opinion.

Why?

Well first,...same engine hp/tq.

Then not having tow mirrors available at launch.

Then not having all engines available at launch.

Poor drivetrain customization...no Trail Boss with 6.2.

The dash somehow looks worse than current model(which is good, but this should be better.

Wheels are ugly.

4 low is a staple unless in a crossover.

Gear ratio options are lame.

I know several of you will call me a hater or negative, but these are my opinions and you are all entitled to your own. There are several enhancements and improvements here, but it seems like it was rushed to market with not enough time on the design table. With Ram and Turd offering so many innovative upgrades this truck will be eating dust by the time they are a year old.

Ah but up to 450lbs lighter.  Don't need more power necessarily when you shed that much weight.

Then not having tow mirrors available at launch.

Better than K2 launching with those GMT-900 mirrors on new door mounts.  I'd rather let them get them right the first time.  Although, I will agree on the NHT side of things as NHT is available right now, but there's no option.

Then not having all engines available at launch.

Allows them to ramp it properly.  I do believe they are allowing orders on the 2.7 though.  I could be wrong.

Probably gonna happen.

Easy fix order Z71.

Gear ratio options are lame.

8 and 10 speed transmissions don't need stupid ratios (3.73, 4.10, etc).  The gearbox more than makes up for it.  We don't have 4L60s anymore Toto.

T1 isn't rushed.  You want rushed, see the entire run of K2.  K2 was a re-bodied GMT-900, with rushed powertrains that used the same junk AFM lifters as the LS engines, just about every truck has a vibration issue, some have had rear ends, drive shafts, tires, wheels replaced to fix or still have no fix.  Leaf spring noise, vacuum pumps failing sending oil into the brake booster and causing brake failures, vacuum pumps failing and taking engines out because lets use live engine oil feed to lube the pump.  Suburbans with roof bows separating causing god awful booming noises, GM couldn't even make a trailer hitch right and had to recall them.

Early K2 was what GMT-900 was supposed to turn into in 2012, but bankruptcy threw a wrench at the plan, they threw some new chrome bumper caps on GMT-900, and then while strapped for $$$, made K2.

T1 should, if anything, make up for the mess that K2 was and is.

GM field engineer told me the AFM drone is completely gone on these trucks with the new skip fire system.

One positive for these trucks.  I don't see many else though

He also told me while the frames rails are overall wider, the metal used to make them is a smaller gauge, and they've been bending or tearing on the front lift points if jacked up or set up on a lift incorrectly.  This to me is a huge issue.  GM wants all the dealers to buy 8'' wide front lift pads for these trucks,  and does not recommend using flip up style lift arms.  Guess what 80% of the lifts dealers use out there have? The flip up style.
