An old post, but time has proved it valid. Seems GM got it right upgrading AFM to DFM.....seamless operation, can't tell how many cylinders are operating at any given time and don't care either. All I know is that when I punch it gives full power without any lag.

I can tell the auto start \ stop is happening but it's so quick it's not a hindrance at all.  By the time you go from brake  to gas it's ready.  I do think the DFM helps as well.     I could live with
