Hey guys,

I'm gonna install CarPro Cquartz UK 3.0 on my truck today. I've owned the truck for less than a month and can already see slight scratches so I want to hurry up and get it  done.

Do you know if i can apply on the chrome bumper and trim?

Here is the process i plan on following:

1) Foam wash

2) Clay bar

3) Polish

4) Use an IPA (Carpro Eraser)

5) Apply Cquartz

6) finish with Carpro reload (silica sealant)

I've looked up a few tutorials and tips but maybe i missed something. I'm in Texas and it's been pretty humid lately here in Houston.

I'm concerned about the "flashing" times. Some say it takes 20 sec's, others say 5 mins... Can anyone elaborate?

I'm using these products:

Juan,

I'll be blunt:  If you have to ask about ceramic coating perhaps you shouldn't be doing it.  It's not for the faint of heart.

I finished up last night. Took my brother and I 6 hours to do two coats... The finish feels like waxed glass.

The application was pretty straight forward.  I'll post pics soon once it cures.

to do the application process properly the entire truck needs to be properly buffed. the ceramic needs a perfectly flat surface to adhere too, or else the ceramic wont last as long. it costs about $1400 for a full sized truck to have a pro do it. from my experience these "pros" are very far and few in between.

Yea my brother is a detailer and helped with all that. He had never ceramic coated a car and wanted us to try it on my truck since its new.

I got quoted from a couple local guys for $2k.... I spent about $300 by doing it myself,

Looks great!!  I have some CQuartz Uk as well and I havent had the time to do a paint correction and apply on my own vehicle yet.  Hopefully sometime this fall.

Yea its worth the hassle for sure. I would recommend getting a buddy to help out... it's a lot more work than i thought haha

I would break it up into two days. First day to thoroughly wash detail and polish the truck. And second day to apply the cquartz and silica sealer.

I think the instructions say to keep the truck inside for 24 hours so no moisture gets on it. But I went with 5 days just to make sure the ceramic cured fully... probably overkill but who knows.

Here in my small town, the guy is swamped because he is good and I can't get in until July.  He quoted me $2,750 to paint correct and apply ceramic coat even on the wheels.
