Dude, seriously? Approx 7 months later and now these accusations, cheeessy, real cheeeesy! I’d change this to
“I’ve got dents on my somewhat new truck and I don’t know how they got there?”

I dont wash my truck I pay someone to wash it, and Im not using my insurance Im going to pay out of pocket, you think I didnt know gm would t cover the issue, Im screwed no matter what. The dents are barely noticeable you have to move your head around to notice them, like I said once again I didnt inspect the roof which I aknowledged was my mistake.

Doesn't sounds like Chevrolet did anything to you.  Sounds like a dealer issue.

How long did it take you to figure it out?

It took me a few months, I dont usually climb on the bed and stare at the roof, and I have a guy wash it. Im screwed I was just venting. And the dealership did do me dirty doesnt matter if it was my fault or not. Atleast imo.

Caveat emptor. Although repairing dents where they are likely to be noticed (hood) and not fixing dents where they are likely not to be noticed (roof) would be a slimeball move.

Thank you!!!

Are you sure the hail damage didn't occur after the purchase?  Sounds odd you wouldn't notice this when purchasing a previously used vehicle.  I would have definitely given the body a good inspection.  If I didn't notice any damage prior to purchase I would blame myself not the dealer.

Yes I agree to a certain extent I inspected the body all around but never thought about looking at the roof. And Im positive.

That's the used part of the truck you bought.

Where did you get a $1000 est.  Dent wizard can do a hood for maybe $200

The problem is the only part with hail damage is the roof.

Point one an obvious one, once you leave the lot the dents are yours. Point two, who’s to say you didn’t get a hail storm after you bought it? I’ve seen hail storms do strange things. I ran through a hail storm the only dents I could find were on the roof. No dealer fault here.

I live in vegas man trust me no hail storms here.

If it took you six months to notice, it must not be that big of a deal. No wash or wax in six months? I'd pour some hot water up there pull out the dents.

You can't file an insurance claim because you "know" that the damage happened prior to it being insured. If you do, you're no better than a common thief.

Your last option is to attempt to sue in small claims court. I don't know Arizona law but you'll have to hope that you can either get someone at the dealer to testify that they knew the damage was there and that they didn't disclose it to you purposefully and/or during the discovery phase find documentation. First thing you can do right now is request all dealer repair records for the life of the truck. They may provide those records to you. Just go to the service department and ask. If you find body work, you might be able to argue that they didn't finish the job. No harm in trying. In the meantime, pull down this post and quit making yourself look like a vindictive ass.

Finally, it's possible that you could find out who insured your truck prior to it being traded in. Maybe they have records of having paid a body shop. It's a long shot and I'm not sure how you'd even start. Maybe with title history and call the previous owner?

To me, this all seems like a lot of work and I'd probably spend the time having fun with mods instead.

Ima fix it and paying outa pocket is my best bet, thanks though.

A dozen "very slight" dents on the roof.  Apparently, so slight no one noticed it for months.

"Unreasonably expensive price".  That I can agree with.  $38,000 for a used LT.

Sounds like you didn't inspect the vehicle before buying it, and just wondering why it took you so many months to even notice the dings?  Do you not wash your truck?

Then, you also paid a premium for the truck.  Did you even negotiate on it?  I'm looking at a random Chevy site right now in another browser window and they are selling brand new 2018 crew cab, 4x4 LT's for $34,000.  Heck, even the CC LT Z71's are only $36,000.

You have to consider that theyre getting rid of all the current models, trust me I looked around for weeks I got what appeared to be a good deal. 34000 plus tax, dealership fees, for a brand new silverado 4wd crew cab, seriously doubt it. I know I got myself into this doesnt mean I cant come on here and vent. As why it took me so long the truck has always been washed by a friend and the dents are not obvious at all, only under a certain angle. The reason I spotted them is because the last time my friend washed it I was checking his work and thats how I spotted them, I literally spotted one thanks to the angle of the sun rays and upon further inspection I found the rest.

Anyway guys thanks all for your input, the truck was obviously not brand new but I did pay a pretty penny for it, Ive never spent this much on any car before so it really pissed me off, I KNOW they sold me the truck like that if they didnt know about it I understand shit happens but they need to thoroughly inspect their cpo’d vehicles and if they did know thats shady as hell because they know the dents are in a spot where theyre not easily spotted. I learned my lesson and when the 2019 comes out Im getting it brand new this time. Last but not least I like turtles bye.

Chevrolet did nothing to the OP. The dealer did nothing to the OP. The OP didn't see the dents. The dealer quite possibly could not see the dents. Heck, the OP didn't see the dents until all the stars were aligned. I'd be pissed too.... at myself. It's called wisdom. Maybe next time, OP, do your due diligence before signing....

Dealers have a both inside a building. No perfect sun angle to spot very minor dents. Enjoy the truck as I am sure you are. Heck, you might just decide to keep her and not be upside down on a '19.

You know it really comes down to the fact you bought a used truck.

I just bought a GM certified truck that was 8 months old.  It had some rock chips on the front bumper. Did the dealer disclose that? No. Should have they? No.

So I had the bumper painted so I could put 3M film on it and protect it from future chips.

Certified or not its still a used vehicle and you bought it as you saw it.  The CPO warranty cover any mechanical issues you have but not chips or dings.

I personally would have as much paint-less dent removal done as possible and call it good.  It's very hard to beat factory paint for durability so keep that paint if possible.

Good Luck

Just wait 12 more months.  You'll care less by then, especially if you ding the truck some more

I rear ended a guy over a year ago....I've been driving with a smashed bumper ever since.  Do I want to get it fixed?  Yes, but I have to say I care way less now than I did 15 months ago
