Aircharge for 2016 Silverado Not working with IPhone X

I am struggling with the fact of buying a newly new 2016 Silverado LTZ 3500 Dually pickup and it came with a factory installed aircharger. I was excited to use it with my new Iphone X. However, It does not charge my iphone x. I was told it is not compatible with the iPhone X which is a total waste. Are their any parts or products that can be exchanged with this piece to make it work?? I know my phone charges with the 2018 Silverados as I test drove one of those before buying this truck. Thanks for your help.
