Clunk when acclerating

Recommended Posts

I have a 2014 GMC sierra 1500 and when i take off from a dead stop there is a clunk sound and a small jerk. Anybody have any experience with an issue like this? trying to determine if its a driveshaft, SYE, or transmission/Torque converter issue. Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same issue since day one. Doesn't happen 100% of the time but the dealer reproduced it and said it is operating normal. I believe they said it was the torque converter engaging. It is annoying because I thought somebody was hitting my truck but now I've just gotten used to the issue and accept it's just another problem that I can't fix.

I have had the same issue with my 2015 since day one. It will only clunk from a dead stop after I have driven over 30mph. I can drive 20 mph all day long and it will never clunk.

I had the driveshaft and the torque converter replaced.

Dealer says operation is normal lol.

89,000 miles on the truck now.
