You will need a few things but they are all cheap and easy to put together.

Website

First the 2 clips
571-1-1703498-2

Then you need 4 of these
571-967067-2

And 4 of these as well
571-1718758-1-LP

You strip the wire, put the water proof boot on, then the metal tab. Then you slide them into the plastic clip.

Check your polarity before hand by sticking the end of the lights into the wireing harness on the truck. Remember which side is red and connect the connector. Now you can disconnect and you will know where to put your wires.

Also, the metal pieces only go in one way, look into the clip ahead of time and you will see what I mean. After I had my ends tegether, I put a little soap on the rubber boots to make it slide in easier.

That's a great write-up and useful if you want to do a clean install and keep it sealed.

But if you already have the factory bed lights and just want to replace them with something else:

1)  Buy whatever LED strips or pods that you want.

2)  Cut the factory wires where they enter the rear of the bed and splice/solder the new light wires onto them (check polarity like above).

3)  Peel the adhesive off and stick the lights up under the bed rails.

That's it.  Works like a charm!

I didn't have the factory lights.... I bought a factory harness without the lights from the dealer for 40 bucks. It being the OEM harness plugged into the power block above the spare tire. I ran the wires into the bed, and wanted to utilize the OEM plug and make it waterproof. Ended up costing me about 5 buck for the parts, 40 for the harness, and 20 for the lights. So 65 bucks and the lights are installed like OEM, but better! I could probably find all the part numbers if you like?

I'm a bit confused.  I have the factory LED's that came with the truck and the dummy plug doesn't have anything connected to it.  Does this mean its just extra?  I don't quite understand.  See my attached image.  Doesn't really make a difference to me if I connect via this plug or splicing off of the wires near the stock LED's.  But would be good to know why this plug is empty if I already have the stock LEDs in the bed.

I build custom harnesses for tow mirror upgrades and having the white spot light (Cargo/Courtesy Lamp) come on in reverse is a common request.  Since diodes are cheap, I include them with a harness purchase.

I don't know what GM harness is available aside from the entire bed light kit that's like $100.  If you want the connector and some pins (not terminated)...$15 and will include some diodes.  If you want me to crimp the pins onto an 18" lead of some wire, $20.  Shipping outside the US will be a little more to cover postage.

Looking to get one of these ordered, I'm in Canada as well. Can you send me some details on how to order
