2018 GMC 2500 front valence removal

So brought my truck to dealer to get skid plates put on. Asked them to remove the front air dam and they said the 2018's are no longer able to be removed. Anyone have pics of theirs removed or know how to remove it?

It is doable. But it’s not simple and there are a couple brackets that I left on mine cause they won’t come off without removing the bumper to pull them. And I didn’t want to do that lol.

its definitely doable. Our 3500 at work was removed when we installed the plow. It looks great removed!! Not sure how much work involved in it though.

the chevys are not removable, but the GMC still are just have to remove all of the bolts holding it on...

How did you remove the parking sensors filler plate to get to those bolts. I smashed my air deflector and bracket & need to replace them. Already have the parts, just need to know how to get to those bolts. Mine's a 2017 Chevy 3500HD LTZ

2018 Sierra Operators Manual:

 

Before Driving Off-Road
. Have all necessary maintenance and service work completed.
. Fuel the vehicle, fill fluid levels, and check inflation pressure in all tires, including the spare, if equipped.
. Read all the information about four-wheel-drive vehicles in this manual.
. Remove any underbody air deflector, if equipped. Re-attach the air deflector after off-road driving.
. Know the local laws that apply to off-road driving.

 

To gain more ground clearance if needed, it may be necessary to remove the front fascia lower air dam, if equipped.

However, driving without the air dam reduces fuel economy.

 

Caution
Operating the vehicle for extended periods without the front fascia lower air dam installed can cause improper airflow to the engine.

Reattach the front fascia air dam after off-road driving.
