Overland build

It’s all good, I’m not too informed about it all either.

for me personally, it gave it some lift maybe about an inch or inch and half from stock. My mechanic didn’t adjust the coilovers or anything when installing.

you do need to get an alignment after install, just for this kind of assembly it’s kind of set and forget I believe. There’s so instant up or down it’s put it on and make sure it’s all dandy and adjust from there then don’t really do much after that. The higher you go up in lift the rougher the ride and for me, the truck was perfectly level when they installed it and let it settle for a day. I’m honestly not sure how much it’s lifted, but it’s pretty much the same height as it was with just the random leveling kit I had on it when I got the vehicle.

Thanks for the explanation. It’s much appreciated! Seems like you’ve got it tuned nicely.

Just a little update, after camping I found water would leak in through the topper and drip on my tailgate. Didn’t really want to pay money for an already assembled awning and the way they mount I would have to jimmy something up anyway. So I made my own awning with some conduit.

Secondly, after driving the truck and taking it to the mechanic, it’s the transmission that’s pooping the bed, just slipping gears, so that sucks...

Bummer to hear about the transmission. I have been on the forum for about a year now since I got my truck but finally decided to make an account because of this thread. Too bad I'm a couple years late to the party! I picked up my '18 Silverado about a year ago and told myself I wasn't going to do any mods to it but I have been drooling over other peoples trucks for a year so the wife gave me the go ahead this year for my birthday. I just ordered wheels, tires, king coilovers, and icon upper control arms. It's funny before stumbling on this thread to day I actually found a picture of your truck on google Henderson and did a photoshop edit of it when I was trying to decide what wheels to get LOL.

Hopefully this thread continues would love to keep it going and see the progression on everyones rigs!

Right on man, I think we would love some pictures when you’re all kitted out!

Yeah, I will definitely post some pics once I get everything installed. Currently waiting on my wheels from FedEx, already a week late 🙄. How are you liking the new suspension setup?

Pardon my ignorance, but two questions for you:

1. is this what they consider a leveling kit?  I don’t see anything in the kit that addresses height in the back.
2. how is it adjustable from 0-3” of loft? How do you have adjustable height that doesn’t sacrifice steering and suspension geometry?

Sorry to drag you back into this! Just thought I would try to answer your question if you hadn't already figured out the IFS stuff. The coilivers are adjustable by the threaded spring perch you can see at the top of the shock in the picture. As for the geometry, the new upper control arms are supposed to correct alot of it.

BTW - Do you miss the 80 series? That has been a dream build of mine for a while now! My buddy is shopping for one at the moment.

I really like the upgrade, it’s squeaky though so I’ll have the shop look into it and see if it’s anything bad. Potholes are still noticeable, but hitting speed bumps at 40mph it’s awesome now lol it doesn’t clunk and bottom out like the stock suspension did when I take it on the trails. Of course, it’s still not the smoothest but enough for what I use it for and makes the ride a little less jaw breaking

The squeaking might be from the poly bushings in the upper control arms. That would be my guess, poly bushing are notorious for that.

Looks like I'm a couple years late to this topic as well.  I'm really enjoying seeing some of these setups.  I have a 2015 Sierra with a Road Armor Pre-runner front bumper (some nice gentleman I never met before bought this for me a couple months after getting the truck in 2018). I installed Rigid J583 LED fog lights that are, according to my wife, well worth the $200, KC Hi-Lights driving lights, and upgraded the headlights to Diode Dynamics along with their reverse lights.  New 4" BDS  lift with Fuel 18x9 Shok 664, and 33x12.5 BFG ATs going on in a 1.5 weeks.  Will post pics when done.

Finally got around to getting everything installed on the truck. Here are a couple quick pictures I took right after I picked it up. I'll get some more this week!716309046_image0(2).jpeg.ce85ad21bc08fe73ecb219e42463530f.jpeg133589213_image1(1).jpeg.748e7af4ad0b4b682d8f2024d105e9ed.jpeg

Looks good. What size tires?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks. Tires are 285/75r17 nitto ridge grapplers. I’ll post more pics once I get it washed this weekend lol. Also just found some king 2.5s for the rear today so hopefully I’ll pick those up and get them installed.
