Well, I'm disappointed if these numbers are right.

There is still another engine to be shown, It says under the fleet order guide  that the 5.3L is standard on the LT trailboss and above trim levels, and LT and RST models it says the 5,3L is a option but below in small print "Base engine not available at launch"

Maybe GM is going the same way as Mercedes ;)

"But Mercedes-Benz has a unique strategy, at least amongst its SUVs. In Canada, its BlueTec diesels are the base engine in its three most traditional SUVs: the squarish GLK, the mid-size ML, and the full-size GL seven-seater tested here. So the GL 350 BlueTec starts at $1,100 less than the $79,500 GL 450 that offers a slightly thirstier but much more powerful gasoline V6. In these luxury segments that means that Mercedes-Benz’s diesels are just barely priced lower than base gas engines, a strategy that saw 79.3 percent of Mercedes-Benz’s light truck sales in 2014 consist of Bluetec diesel models."

Personally I think the 2007-2013 1/2 trucks, especially the Chevy's, were the worst trucks GM ever made.  Cheaply made and ugly.  The Sierras were a bit better looking but the 1/2 ton Chevy's were awful.  You don't see me trolling the GMT900 section.

Man I hate those trucks. I had an '08 LT 4x4 for a work truck. What a POS. Almost turned me off of GM for good. My 2015 SLT has been nearly perfect. But I have to get the new AT4. I love the way it looks, plus my son just turned 16 and needs a truck. Perfect timing! I really wanted to keep the '15 anyway.

Sounds like you don't like the new truck, so why are you posting in the T1xx section?  Just move on.

The 2019 Silverado in beautiful.  It's perfect, inside and out.  Don't know about the mechanicals yet though. I doubt you've even seen one in person.  I saw the silver/metal colored LTZ and the red Trailboss and it was absolutely fantastic.  Can't wait to buy one.

I think y’all are crazy, I absolutely loved my 2012 AWD 6.2L Denali! I will admit the AWD was a stupid decision by GM. I’m with you 2Speed on the AT4. I’m looking to get a black or red AT4 with the new diesel and loaded out like a Denali! One thing that does scare me about the new trucks is the new in house axels. For example on my 2014 6.2L 4x4 i could never get new gears for the 9.76” rear end. I looked it up the other day and gears are still not available.

5 more hp, down 10ft lbs, and down 400lbs of weight, not sure what you guys are complaining about, thing is going to be fast as hell.

Would you rather have 460ft lbs with a silverback gorilla in the bed, or 450ft lbs without.

I'd rather GM shot for best in class performance and give us a 450hp/480lbs (or better) 6.2, in a 400lbs lighter truck. I'd rather the 5.3 V8, wasn't out performed by a wheezy V6. That 400lbs isn't going to feel much different.

GM, says they shaved roughly 400 pounds from the previous Silverado, "body/frame" by means of aluminum and higher strength steel. They don't actually give us a curb weight though. I wouldn't bet surprised if it ends up weighing the same because of the start stop function in these trucks, weight of the battery and parts that go with it.

In my opinion, it's about time to draw the line and leave the hp and torque to the tuners.

I'd rather see the manufacturers to concentrate on rust proof frames, fuel economy and durability.

I'd rather pay, out of pocket, $179 for undercoating, than $500+ for a tuner that will likely void warranty...

I wonder what the new engine might throw out if they release one.

I'm hoping they continue with a base six cylinder gas, preferably 250+ hp (with at least a 3.42 rear)  and outstanding fuel economy!

Might not be a need for a tune on new trucks as they have a sport mode

That's all the tune really does, is fix the horrendous shifting, throttle, and torque management. Something that could easily fix in a sport mode.

What do you think GM will charge you for a 600+hp truck?

Well we don’t have to worry about that because they wouldn’t build one.
