Bullet Liner vs Line-X

Recommended Posts

I got a bullet liner done back in Sept and it has held up nicely.   I had them remove the caps before spraying because I had already purchased these https://www.amazon.com/Bull-Ring-2007-2018-Silverado-Retractable/dp/B00TOUP7OQ/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1521112781&sr=8-6&keywords=bull+ring

I just had the base line-x sprayed in mine. Haven't heard of the bullet liner in my area. They popped the plugs out, sprayed the liner and put them back in. No issue so far.

I had a drop in liner on this truck before (came from the dealer that way). Pulled that out and had the line-x sprayed. The front rail (sprayed) isnt as thick as the former drop in liner. The gasket for the front of my tonneau cover was formed to the previous liner and niw it doesnt form a good seal. Hopefully once it warms up, that goes away.

Bullet Liner comes with a Nation Wide, Lifetime warranty.  The bullet liner product was created by the same person that created Line-X.  After the non-compete ended, he improved the product and called it Bullet Liner.  Tough, durable and scratch resistant.... not to mention cost quite a bit less than Line-X brand.

I went with bullet liner and I’m thrilled with it.

I pulled the plugs out so they wouldn’t get lined. I trimmed the barbs on the back of the plugs so they will snap in tight even with the extra thickness of the liner. I prefer this clean look (coated to the edges of the holes and no need to try to cut them out later) and the ability to add bull rings later if I like.

The finish is a nice, shiny black with a smooth enough texture that it isn’t like a cheese grater on my knees.

And I saved over $100 on what I believe is a better product.

Had my 2016 truck done by Rhino Linings and it was one of the better investments I've made. Rhino Linings is the original creator of bedliners so it's no question their product quality is better than companies like Line-x and Bullet, it's not even debatable. If you've ever seen any of those discovery channel episodes on youtube where they TRY to destroy things with Rhino Linings coatings it's really funny and gives a new meaning to word protection... I don't think Superman could damage that stuff lol.

I haven't done the research on this but I was told that the guy that invented Line-x sold the company years ago and signed a no compete contract for so many years. After those years expired he came out with Bullet liner. Just repeating what I was told. I have had both brands and currently have Bullet Liner in my truck. In almost 4 years of use, it still looks good. Granted it is not hard use daily use and I do have a toneau cover.

Edit: Google Claudio Burton, he invented Line-x and he invented Bullet Liner.

Bullet Liner is a product invented and produced by Claudio Burtin. He is the principal founder of Line-X. After he sold Line-X corporation, and properly waited out a non-compete clause, he was then able to develop and launch Bullet Liner.
