I just checked and they said all that they could tell me was the TPW.  No other info was available.

That's odd, I just checked mine and they said the TPW is this week with a 3300 event code and the build was at Silao and he could not see any constraints. That was through the ChevyChat. They also asked me if I wanted daily email updates, so I gave them my address. They gave me a "service request number" and that somehow correlates to the daily email updates on the build. I have not received an email as of right now but I will post a copy as soon as I get it.

My Trail Boss was also made in Ft. Wayne, it is my understanding that all 1500 crews will be built in Mexico after the first of the year. The plant in Mexico was still building the old model thru December and then are supposed to retool to build T1's. At least that is what I have been told.

Yes, currently the '19s are all "1" VINs.  I have to admit this was attractive to me as a buyer before they move to Mexico, but take it with a grain of salt really.  Ft. Wayne is merely where they are assembled.  It's still not a very American vehicle.

The leaf springs on mine declare in pretty large letters "MADE IN MEXICO".

I didn't look at the window sticker much honestly to see what % of the parts were sourced where.

I'd wager the Camry is still more American than GM products.

You'd win that wager. A Toyota is much more American than a GM these days. Even my '07 Silverado has stickers saying things were made in Mexico, Thailand, China, and the like. Plus it's a VIN "2" - assembled in Canada.

Hi everyone, this is my first post on here and also the first new truck I have ever ordered. Here is my order progression.

10/29/2018 - Ordered the all new T1 2019 Silverado High Country, Crew Cab Short Box, 6.2L with 10 speed trans., Tech Package, Northsky Blue, Premium package and retractable running boards from a dealer in Central IL with a TPW of 12/17/2018.

12/10/2018 - ChevyChat agent told me my truck was going to be built in the Silao, Mexico plant, still had 12/17/2018 TPW.

So today is my TPW and I checked the constraints on the silverado builds and it says there is a hold on the "premium package" trucks through December 2018. Then I went and built another new truck this morning on the chevy site and the "Premium" package option is gone, only the Deluxe is now offered. The only difference between these two packages were the style of the 22" wheels. I will find out today what is going on and post an update.

Here is the constraint list posted 12/12/18 - it says 13 weeks lead time!

2019 Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra 1500 Double and Crew Cab (Next Gen)

13
  • LT Trail Boss (&2LT) - Estimated constrained through December 2018
  • 22" Wheels w/o High Country Deluxe (RVA-PDM) - Estimated constrained through December 2018
  • Bedside Storage Boxes (RW9) - Estimated constrained through November 2018
  • 4.3L V6 Engine (LV3) - Estimated constrained through December 2018
  • 5.3L V8 Engine (L82) - Estimated constrained through December 2018
  • 2.7L Turbo Engine (L3B) - Estimated constrained through December 2018

Here is a pic of the wheel that seems to be causing the constraint. I took this pic when I was at SEMA 6 weeks ago.

Yes, you are correct when saying parts are made in Mexico, I believe that my window sticker showed a higher percent of the parts were made in Mexico than anywhere else. The sticker on door states that it was assembled in Fort Wayne.   A very large amount of anything manufactured in the US uses parts that are sourced from a foreign country, just a fact of life these days.
