2” or 3” leveling kit?

I drive a 2014 Chevy Silverado with factory 22s and 285/45/r22 tires. I plan on putting a leveling kit on it and getting some bigger tires to beef it up a little bit. Thinking about a 3” leveling kit in the front with 1” blocks in the rear. (Just running a 2” leveling kit in the front would be an option but I’ve heard you can only get 33s under there)

 

A few questions: does anyone have any experience with a setup like this? What’s the biggest size tires I could get? (I’m assuming I could get 34s without rubbing). And also, what are everyone’s recommendations on tread width? I’m wondering if I should stick with a 285/55/r22 or upgrade to something a little wider?

Just installed a 3" motofab level kit on my 2016 with factory rear. Upgraded to 20x12s (-44) with 33x12.5 mud tires. Took a little plastic and metal trimming to not rub. Before and after pics below.

That looks really good! I went ahead with my lift and actually put on the zone 3.5” combo kit- a 2” level in the front and 1.5” body blocks on the front and rear. I decided to go with the 35 x 12.50 R22 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on stock offset and couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. I had to trim my fender liner to minimize the rub but I do slightly rub the sway bar at full turn (not a huge issue for me). I do have a question though: when you say you had to do some metal trimming to not rub, where exactly did you have to trim? I’m contemplating grinding down my sway bar but I’m a little skeptical.. might just learn to live with it. Mine rubbed right on the plastic corner of the back portion of the front fenders... trimmed the plastic and the metal under it.. will take pics for you this weekend.

2.5 king, nothing in back. 33x12.5r22 on a 10"wide -25. had to trim quite a bit of metal in the back of the fender well. used zone's trim plates. Looks way more aggressive in person, not so pizza cutter. running ridge grapplers. When it comes to tires more is more - these trucks look better with more tire. Just if you don't want a large lift you have to mod.

 

35's on OEMs look great on your truck BTW...

Honestly I don't remember the offset.  I've had the wheels for a few years.  I can get under the truck and look on the inside of the wheel a little later today and see.  Zero trimming, I do rub on the felt liner at full crank in reverse.  It just barely rub the liner.

I am running a motofab 2.5'' upper strut leveling kit, ARE camper shell, Yokama rack, 2019 GMC AT4 wheels, and 275/70r18 ko2. I love the look but I believe I will be replacing the rear 1'' lift block with a 2'' block. I would recommend having someone else install your leveling kit. It sucked putting it on.
