Bad injectors

I had the same issue with CEL and Stabilitrac Light on....truck ran like poop. Replace the Left Bank Lifters. When it happened the first time, it cleared before I got to the dealer, and they checked codes....1-3-5-7 Injectors Misfire #7 6,900 times, no repair made being the truck was running fine when I brought it in

I would have argued hard with the dealer on this, injectors are part of the engine I think should be covered under the 5yr/60K powertrain warranty.

The injector issue isnt anything new, been dgoing on since the new DI engines came out. There are 3 different injectors for the DI engines, I just had one replaced on my 2016 Sierra 6.2 that only had 22k miles on it. Took the dealer about a week to figure it out and get the right injector ordered for the truck.

Now that something I didnt know, the injectors are not covered under the power train warranty. So they are just covered under the bumper to bumper warranty?

That doesn't makes sense to me either. It's part of the engine.......

I am having the same problem with my 2016 it started about 4 months ago with only 47k miles now; after replacing spark plugs, o2 sensors and going crazy... dealer told me I have a bad injector # 7 however the recommend to replace all 8 injectors and while we are at it replace the fuel lines at a "discounted" price of only $1800. ( it stinks to be asked to pay that much for truck you are still making payments on)

The service adviser pulled all the lame excuses; he even told me I have been putting some bad gas in there, I told him that it was the same gas that goes into the rest of the cars in my household and none of the other cars have any issues. (a Ford and a Honda that are running like champs with more miles)

Gordon and Partners is a law firm that has a office in the same building where I work; they have filed class action law suet in the past against car makers before for problems such as this one... as son as get around to it I will let you all know if we have a case and see if you would like to participate.

Truck had to be towed and diagnosed with bad ignition coil. It was replaced and the dealer ran the codes again and said that there is a problem with the injectors. Don't know whic ones or how many and it was diagnosed during a cold start. Not under warranty either and recommended either replacing all of one side for $1400 or all 8 for $2000. The truck has 35,000 miles on it! I was looking to see if this has been a problem. 2015 Silverado.

My 2016 had same problem. Was covered under warranty. Took dealership 2 days to take apart and install 1 fuel injector.

Dealing with same thing right now. Service department says injectors arent covered under powertrain on 1500 but are on 2500. Makes sense:( Mine is 2017 with 6.2. Local shop said it was injector 4 and dealer is showing 2 and 6 via diagnostics

Has anyone just kept driving and not fixed? Has anyone had issues with other injectors going bad after fixing the ones that show misfires in diagnostics? Labor is steep so debating between replacing all vs ones misfiring vs not at all.

We opted to keep driving. Picked it up today after paying almost $700 for ignition coil and then dead battery. We'll see what happens but no check engine light and drives fine right now.

Well, I bit the bullet I guess and going to replace them all. More than I want to spend but 3 cylinders have shown significant misfires so I am afraid if I fix those and not the others I'll be back in the shop before long.

Not real pleased with GM on this. Seems to be a common issue from what I have read.

You have a 2017...are you over the 36,000 miles? I thought they would be covered under the 3/36 but not the 5/60 PTW?? A screen shot of a conversation with my service manager about injectors...he owns a Titan, thus the comment LOL

Unfortunately yes. Light came on first time at 36070 or something. Called the gm dealer and didn't catch anyone as it was friday. Did a bunch of driving over the weekend so was way past 36k by time they checked it. I have been living with it since. I put on lots of miles this fall and am up to 54k. It really isn't effecting anything yet but is an annoyance. Remote start doesn't work obviously and looking at that light on a newer pickup is aggravating:)

Just drove 400 miles with no issues yesterday on my 2015 Silverado 1500 with 70k miles. Turned it on today and engine light was on. Took it by AutoZone to have it read, and it showed 3 error codes dealing with fuel injectors. Running some cleaner through it, along with 93 octane to see if it’ll help. Will call GM and see how much it would be to change them all out. If it’s ridiculous, I’ll do it myself and keep y’all updated with costs, parts, time, steps, etc.
