I need center front floor ideas

I'd sell my house/build a real garage before this.

I'd sell my truck and drive a scooter before I'd sell my 5000 sq ft  house. Attached 2 car garage serves only two purposes - to keep my a$$ dry during a rainstorm and to keep the vehicles clean in a snowstorm. The real detached garage is for the jet boat, lawn tractor, pool equipment, generator and smelly crap that I don't want to stink up the house

I had a small black plastic filling cabinet in that spot in my previous truck. Fit perfect and allowed me to keep things inside it and also on the lid as a tray. Sorry no pictures. I’d recommend going to your local Office Depot/Max or staples with some measurements and a tape measure cheap and VERY functional.

It sounds to me, based on the gymnastics you describe in order to park & exit/enter your vehicles, that you really only have a 1.5- 1.75 car garage(in width).  A real 2 car garage is wide enough to park 2 fullsize vehicles & fully open doors on either vehicle, on both sides, without hitting anything. Typically, the garage needs to be at least 20-22' wide inside for this.

Personally, it would drive me nuts to do what you're doing & I'd widen the garage.......... :)

Back to the subject at hand- Personally I didn't buy a truck with the factory console because- A. The console only has 2 cup holders & not 3 like the 40-20-40 front seat. B. I like having the open space and flexibility that goes with it. C. Every once in a while the drivers door freezes shut in the winter & I have to clamber in from the passenger side. It's a lot easier to do this without a console in the way.

IMO, it should be interesting to see what creative uses people come up with for the OP

I like the 3 cup holders, the option to have 6 people in the truck (legally), the "hidden" and lockable compartment, and the "ashtray" holder which comes in use. I just would like to cover the carpet and also add some functionality to the middle hump. A low profile moulded, smooth-hard rubber organizer for some odds and edds that wont roll around and under my pedals.

It’s funny you should mention that.

I was dead set on getting a truck with a console. As selection at the time didn’t offer any, I was sure I would add one like many folks here have done. But after 7 months in, I have decided against it. I really like the open front floor.

Im always putting stuff there rather than the on passenger seat or have to reach over the console to the passenger floor to put/get stuff. I still may put in a console at some point, but for now I’m really happy with the bench seating and open floor. I also like the underneath lockable storage area.

I agree.  I like the look and function of a console but the middle jump seat configuration gives much more versatility to our trucks.  You can still stow a lot of personal items in the middle "seat" and use it as an armrest.  A console will also stow personal items and serve as an armrest but not seat a passenger.  It is very rare I carry three in the front but the fact that I am able to has proven to be a real asset.
