Meguiars vs Mothers

What's better and why? How about meguiars gold class vs mothers reflections or mothers hot wheels premium wax?

It has been my experience that Mothers is better for new stuff in great shape, and Meguiars is better for improving slightly damaged finishes.

Both are well above average at both tasks though.

Wrongo Mark, Meguiars has been in the business far longer than any other professional car wax manufacture.

SIMPLE, if your really into a good looking slick finish, use Meguirars No. 26 paste wax. If your vehicles paint has been abused, then get ready for a work out.

Use Meguiars No.2 Cleaner, immediately followed by 1 coat of No. 26. Follow up with an additional coat of No 26 approx. 5 to 7 day later.

After that, you won't have to screw around with it for about 8 to 12 mos. But if you really love your car/truck, you'll repeat every 5 to 6 mos.

MEGUIARS IS AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT. I once paid through the nose for Groit's special carnuba blended car wax, but Meguiars was the better product, no doubt about it.

Thanks for the tip Gilbert. I take it you like using paste wax over liquid? I think liquid is easier to put on/remove, but I heard it won't last as long as paste. Your or anyone elses thoughts?

WTF??? Who said anything about the length of time the company's have been in business.

Mothers makes good glaze, finishing products.

Meguiars is better for improving slightly damaged finishes.

Meguires has a good line of cleaners/polishes.

I paid my way through college running my own detailing business. I cleaned Mercedes, Porsches, Ferraris, classic american cars, etc.

I have used a multitude of brands and levels of qualities of waxing/polish products. Please inform me what is "Wrongo" about my experience?

I use both .

I use meguires to wax my truck and i use the mothers to polish my diamond plate they both work great for what i use them for

I've used Meguairs, Mothers, and Zaino.

I end up coming back to my favorite, Klasse, after every trial of a different brand.

blacksilver, I went to that web site for klasse. I take it that you can only buy this on line? I've never seen this at auto stores.

Sorry Mark, my dyslexia must have kicked in gear when I first read the post.

I am a big Maguairs fan though. I've tried lots of different products, but the paste wax No 26 is the best I have ever used, no doubt about it.

But now that blacksilver has mentioned Klasse, I think I'll give it try. I need to stay in tune with the other stuff out there.

I use Mothers, it goes on really easy and comes off really easy, plus leaves my truck looking great! I assume Meguires is a good product too, but is just comes down to which you feel is best!

Has anyone ever tried this stuff called Wash and Wax All. It also contains no silicone and was designed for planes..

I love Meguiars... never had a problem and shines GREAT... I use a Meguiars polish first to bring out the color then I go to a Meguiars 26 liquid carnauba wax to keep the shine. I have tried several other products on my current truck and this is what I find gives me the best shine. I also bought the Porter-Cable orbital Polisher/Sander and adapted it to use the Meguiars 6.5" polishing pads... one word AWSOME gives you the best finish in half the time you can’t even compare it to a polisher bought from wall-mart for $19.95, the Porter-Cable is worth every penny and anyone can use it no with swirls.

I am sure Mothers is great too but this is what I have had experience with.

I've used alot of different waxes and polishes, but Zaino is what I like best. It's easy on, easy off, gives the best shine, and protects longer than waxes.
