8 Spd Tranny

I have taken my 6.2 8 spd back to dealer three times for rough shifting and clunking between 1st and 2nd gear. first time they replaced converter, second time they replaced seals 1st &2nd, 3rd &4th and 4th & 5th. Third time they reprogrammed the computer. NOT FIXED!! They were programming the tranny to GM specks!!! I invested in a Super Chips Programmer. installed the super chip transmission suggested  and guess what!! I love the way it shifts now!! It shifts smooth as a school teacher's leg!! no more rough shifts, no more clunking!! want to fix your 8 spd problems then abandon the GM program for your tranny . The 8 spd is a great transmission if programmed correctly

On another note. Do you think the trans chip mod will cause any issues with GM warranty? I ask as I am looking to get a new truck and the 8 speed scares me a bit.

1500 problems, my 6.0 and 6 speed run great in my 2500hd.

Yeah nobody in this section is really going to care because the HD trucks don't use the 8L90e.  Lots of discussion about in the 1500 section.
