2004 Tahoe cracked head

I have a 2004 Tahoe 5.3 z71. The head is cracked and I've been reading this is a big issue with these trucks. I'm going to tear apart and replace the heads and my question is what would be the best heads to buy?  I don't want to buy the same heads and have same issue. While I'm in there I might do a cam swap and lifters rods trays ECT. Any suggestions on a good cam as well?
