That's a great price, wish I could get that deal where I live.  Have any issues arisen since the exchange?  I've only put about 100 miles since I had mine done but so far so good.

No issues.  I had it done at 10k on the Burb and it now has 60k.  I did due a pan drop and filter change at 55k since it was the original filter.

I do my own filter and fluid change. Like has been said I got about 6.5 quarts with my change when I did it around 70k miles. At 80k I used a pump and pulled one gallon out the dipstick tube and poured 1 gallon back in. I just rolled past 91k. I am going to wait until 95k and pull another gallon out and refill. My plan is to continue to do 1 gallon swaps every 15k and filter swaps every 50k.

My first fluid change the oil looked almost brownish. I'm on my phone or I would attach a picture.

What did you use to take the fluid out of the dipstick?

I use a hand operated pump that you can buy at Walmart. I use a piece of polyethelene tubing from Home Depot or Lowes about 4 feet long. I use the PTFE tubing and insert it down the tube with the natural curve pointing down. Slip the tygon tubing of the pump over the PTFE and pump the fluid out in a drain pan or empty oil bottle. .

I had a 2004 Silverado ext cab with 5.3. Bought it new and it was totaled in a head on in 2011 with 151k on it. It ran and looked like new. Every 60k I did the tranny fluid exchange at my dealership. Replaced it with a loaded 2006 Siverado ext cab LT w/ 40k. Followed same maintenance schedule with it. Sold it this past Oct with 149k on it and it ran perfectly. I also used Mobil 1 in both trucks and changed when oil life indicated. Both trucks never used any oil or had any transmission issues. I bought a 2017 GMC Sierra Denali w/50k on it and will continue with same plan.

I would hope not. That is the average OEM 'life time' service factor.

On my 2014 V6 silverado i dropped the pan and changed the fluid. The fluid was very dark and the magnet also needed cleaning. I could not find a pan with a drain plug to replace original pan so i bought a plug on Ebay that has to be welded in. I would not trust the plugs that do not require welding. I will do a few more oil changes over the next year till the fluid looks clean. It wold be great if GM put it in at the factory , but they want to sell trannies and i do not trust a flush.

PML and B&M both make alloy pans for the 6L80E with drain plugs. PML on my 2015 V6 6L80E. This one is an 8 quart but they also make the stock 6 quart pan.

A little late to this show, truck currently has 31k on it (2018 5.3 6spd)  plan to pump out what I can through the dipstick, drop pan for cleaning and a new filter. Add what I took out assuming about 6qts. Take it for a ride around town, pump what I can put of the dipstick tube and refill.

Shouldn't be any issues mixing the factory fluid with Napa synthetic right?
