Is that a bird in my truck? Weird sound on startup

Recommended Posts

So, I just picked up my 2017 Sierra yesterday and ever since we got home, I get this weird electronic chirp when I start it. I didn't hear it during the test drive because I didn't start the truck myself.

It seems to come from the speaker, and it has the Bose (center console so I think 6 speakers and a sub?) if that makes any difference. What is that thing lol

Unfortunately we live in a world where you can buy a truck on a 8 year loan with little money down. “Theft” doesn’t surprise me

Lending is risk vs reward in very simple terms. The interest rate is determined by risk of default on the loan.

If the lender can lower the risk of default, which is what this device does, they can lower their interest rate.

I contacted my salesperson, she's away on medical leave but she had someone call me from the dealership, he seemed to know exactly what it was, he called me and left a message to call him back (I couldn't answer the phone when he called) I called back but he had already left and he is off today, so I should know tomorrow morning when he comes in!

Sorry I haven't replied earlier. The manager that called me and was supposed to call back never called, I kept calling back and they said they will pass the message to him. Finally, a few days ago I was told "oh he's no longer with us, is there anyone else I can transfer you to?"

So I went and took my Sierra to my regular Chevy service dept at my local dealer and asked my usual service rep which I've known for a few years, and he said it's a tracking device, that it should not be on there and that he wants nothing to do with it, that I needed to take it to the GMC dealer that sold it to me (same company as the Chevy dealer I go to) and have them take care of it.

Has this happened to anyone? He said they can see where I am at anytime, anywhere and they can also disable the truck at will. I didn't sign any papers that said they could track me like this, seems like invasion of privacy to me!

Every single word of it! The only thing that is vague is their "concierge" service which I declined, the contract just says "Concierge service: see brochure". I never saw the brochure since I declined it.
