Engine code P0324 help

2015 5.3 Sierra CC

I was driving my truck and I noticed I had lost some acceleration, and when I give it gas the engine would bog down a little bit. No engine code after that drive. Drove the truck again to see if iI had the issue again and I did and the CEL came on. Pulled the code when I got home and there was one fault of P0324 and Pending fault code P0324 P. I did google it and its engine knock control system error.

Any suggestions on where the sensor is located so I can replace it and a part number?.

Don't replace the sensor just yet....you might just have gotten some bad fuel. Add dry gas to fuel tank.

Pull the big plastic box between your throttle body and air filter.....has the valve cover hoses going into it......look for excessive motor oil pooled in it. This 0w-20 oil is vaporizing....going up the hoses coming out of the valve covers....going into the throttle body and intake.....would also set off knock sensor if there was an excess of motor oil that got sucked in and burned.

Its why people are putting on those oil catch cans between valve cover hoses and intake.

Check those two....drive it a couple days.

I have a K&N CAI so no box in-between throttle body and air filter

The P0324 code is for the knock sensor control module which means it has detected an internal circuitry fault. It is integral to the ECM, you need a new ECM if no other codes were thrown.

Should be free under the 3/36 warranty....if he has over 36k miles he is SOL? Not covered under Powertrain...
