Fumoto Valve

I'm looking at getting a Fumoto Drain Valve for my '02 2500HD 8.1L/Allison. I'm having a bit of a problem determining which model number I need and if I need an adapter (I don't think so).

Does anyone else use this on the same engine? If so, which one did you get?

I just got one for my 02 6.0 and it was F107. According to the packaging this unit is good for GM engines "1996 & on, all engines" (direct quote).

Did your clear without the adapter/spacer? Mine wouldn't

Don't know; I just got mine about 2 weeks ago, and I'm not due for an oil change for about 3K more, so it hasn't been installed yet. I did notice that there is a "word of caution" about the 2500HD on Fumoto's web site, but sending those imbeciles an email requesting information got me nothing. With the adapter, does the valve get close to the exhaust pipe?

I bought the adapter "just in case"....glad I did. The drain plug is in a recessed area. This recess keeps the valve from turning to install it without hitting the edges of the pan. I would guess your pan would be identical to mine. Mine clears the pipe fine, the crossover on a HD may be closer.

How much did the adapter set you back? Are you getting any leaks?

No leaks yet. I believe it was $5 or $6 extra.

OK, got the F107N and an adapter. I didn't need the adapter after all. The nipple is about 3/4" from the exhaust. This is on an '02 2500HD Crew Cab with 8.1L/Allison.
