I have owned several different dashcams, ranging from different models to different brands. They just don't last. They either begin to regularly freeze, or malfunction in some other way within a month or two. All of them have been junk. It would be nice if some of the major electronics companies would start making dashcams, but so far it just the Chinese junk brands like Z-edge, Oldshark, etc.

I agree that there are a lot of "junk" cameras out there, but that being said, I did a lot of research before buying this one and was extremely happy with the quality and performance of this. Most of the products you use in life are manufactured in China, and they are not all junk. And to be fair, this is manufactured in Korea...

Perhaps I missed it. Battery or capacitor?

It can either be hard wired or what I did was plugged it into my cigarette lighter... it turned on/off automatically with the truck. Like I said though, you would need to buy the cable from Blackvue or a third party; this is just the camera and windshield mount. Even at that, it's still a smokin' deal.

This is a good deal, but does this work with the 2nd channel for rearview if I bought it separately? Or do I have to buy another 1CH? Or does this one only support 1CH?

Power wire is $15 online for a direct wire into driver side fuse box.

Edit: Nevermind, found out - this one doesn't come with an outlet for a coax cable for the rear. Would have to operate independently.

You are correct. It is only the one channel and cannot be paired with the rear-facing camera, sorry.
