Tow Mirrors Dilema

I'm also interested in these mirrors. Can you buy them with the chrome covers. I want wifey to get these for me at Christmas

Yes you can switch.

Parts dept should be able to supply a list of parts required for your serial number.

 

I looked into this for the 2015 truck that I had, before I decided to get this NHT truck.  Parts guys had the bulletin with the cahrt of what existing truck was equipped with and what is required to change. 

It was definitely doable - but I thought it was spendy.

Are the 1A mirrors comparable to the OEM tow mirrors? I'm interested in converting from Heated, puddle lights, and power folding mirrors to 1A mirrors with the same features.

I did a review video of both a set from 1A Auto and GM OEM.

I also want to note, if you do not have Power Fold, Turn Signals, Cargo Lamp, and Clearance Lamps, you CAN gain these features if you get a mirror that has them.  If you look at my truck in all the mirror videos I show, my truck is a 2016 LT that came with the smaller DL8 mirrors that are Power Adjust and Heat only.  

 

I have upgrade to DL3, gaining Power Fold, Turn Signals, Puddle Lamps and Auto Dim (driver side).  During my testing of Tow Mirrors, I have added/tested Power Fold, Cargo Lamps, Clearance Lamps, and Turn Signals.  

 

You CAN gain these.  

 

There will be some specific requirements needed based on year, trim, and mirror types.  PM me for more info.  I make Custom PnP Harnesses, DIY Kits, and any other information needed to support this upgrade,
