3.5" lift kit questions

Hi everyone,

 

I'm looking for some advice since this lift range seems to fall between the 2" "you dont need to worry about anything" and the 4" "you need to look at drivetrain angels and brake lines".

 

So i have a 2014 GMC Sierra 2500 4x4 with "legit z71" package. It currently has a 1" body lift and rides on 275/70/18 ko2s (33" tires). Im looking at a 3.5 inch level-lift kit from rough country. The kit lifts the front 3.5" and the rear an 1". It comes with forged steel replacement controller arms, shocks, a differental spacer, longer U bolts and so forth.

 

Do i need to be worried about brake lines, driveshaft angels, or transfercase seals and such?

I don't what to go past 4" and i'd like to stay under if i can. I actually do take the truck off road on uneven terrain and am not interested in raising the center of gravity with a lift kit that doesnt actually gain clearence since its your axles that set your clearance and risks a roll over on uneven terrain. The main goal is to improve the angel of attack in the front, but i dont want to do a cheap leveling key kit.

From what I've read on here, once you start to get either 2 1/2" or 3" then you need to worry about the angle. I also wouldn't get a cheap lift, especially if it's 3 1/2" because that would pretty much be an extended level so you'd be paying more in the long run. I would get an actual 4" lift kit and from a good company like BDS. Don't cheap out on a lift because as I said, you'll pay more in replacing parts in the long run.
