2016 Suburban 4wd in 2wd mode. Why are front wheels pulling?

Recommended Posts

jacked up the rear of my 2016 4wd suburban lt

truck has been in 2wd for about 50 miles

shut traction control off

put in drive

gently hit the gas

rear wheels did not spin

front wheels were pulling car forward

As soon as I felt the pull I was surprised and glad it did not pull the car off the stands

I wanted to use the rear axle to grind down some rotors by attaching them to the lugs so they would spin and then use my grinder.

Anyone know why the front wheels were pulling? Thanks,

Was the 4x4 switch left in AUTO? That's probably why...I think you have bigger problems than that however...You know they make brake lathes for working on rotors right? And lots of places can cut them for you right?

I just jacked up my 2011 4WD in 2wd and the rear wheels spun.

Saw the turning rotor technique on YouTube but it wasn't as east as it looked.

I'll stick to using new rotors.

I think the 2011 is 4 wheel or 2 wheel not auto. But either way I find alot of shops dont even cut rotors anymore as it's not worth it to them. Go on ebay the rotors are ridiculously cheap, shipped to your door. There is a company on there called brake lab and they have Callahan rotors which are good quality. I used them and they were great. Good luck
