2017 Tow Mirrors

I've had the new tow mirrors and door harnesses previously on my 2016 but it got sold. But now I'm wondering if the 2017 I have now even need the harnesses for all the lights to work. I coulda swore my 2016 worked everything with stock harnesses but don't remember, but I had still put the new harnesses in it.

 

I've been through all the threads already the last time I got them, but I just want to know if anyone has installed the tow mirrors without the new harnesses and had everything work on the 2017's. I'm assuming they are no different but just wanna know if I could save 200 bucks and not have to get the new harnesses.

Here's the thread where the mirrors are discussed, but you may already know about it.

 

The first thing to know is what functions do your stock mirrors have now (power adjust, heat, turn signals, power fold, etc.)?

Whatever functions the stock mirrors have, the tow mirrors will have without changing the harnesses, except the puddle lights. OEM tow mirrors don't have puddle lights.

 

If you want to add functions to the tow mirrors that your current mirrors don't have, you'll either need new harnesses or you'll need to add pins and wiring to the harnesses.
