Do other's 6 speeds whine just a noticeable bit in the lower gear

I guess it's 1-2 but possibly 2-3 upshift, I have a little whine than then audibly releases upon the shift. Not bad, and i knew it was doing it on my extended test drives. Dealership said normal. Multi-certified mechanic at my work rode with me and said he could watch the tach to see if it were slipping. It wasn't. He said probably just a characteristic of this trans.

I traded a '16 8 speed for this '16 6 speed. Someone tell me their 6 speed does this and I'll make the call that this is an awesome truck. And - so far st least - the brakes work every time too!

Almost any transmission will have some whine from gear mesh...it's a matter of how well they insulate for noise.

Mine whines in all lower gears...

What's the possibility of inserting some heat resistant insulation board between the transmission and cab floor?

Based on location of the trans, I think as much audible noise transfer might be through the firewall as much as floorboard. I'll ask my Svc manager though. The truck drives and feels great. Linear acceleration, minimally (normal) perceptive shifts, etc.

The service Mgr has an incentive to tell me all ok. I'd like an objective opinion. If no harm, then I can live with it. Actually I have 29k more bumper-to-bumper warranty and a 50k extended after that. I should relax.
