Trimming GMC wheel well OEM trim

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for some specific examples of trucks with the OEM Sierra wheel well trim that have had to trim their fenders to fit tires.

I've read all about the Norcal-esque trimming and seen plenty of examples, but haven't found anything with the indented fender metal and plastic trim on the Sierra. I'm curious how they made the trim still fit and how it looks with the metal indent when it's done. I've searched the forum as well as specific threads on lifts/levels, and found a lot of mentions of it but no pictures or specific details.

So if you've got pictures or at least details of how this works/worked on your truck or someone's you know, please share. Or if I've completely missed a thread/post that already exists on this, please forgive me and point me in the right direction.

A few pics for reference:

Hey guys,

Ive been researching the heck out of what I want to do with my truck. I narrowed it down to a 2.5 RC level and a 1.5" Zone body lift all together for a little over $300 and installing myself.

Now for wheels. I want the fuel maverick 20x10 -24 or the Moto Metal MO970 20x10 -24 offset so they stick out a little.

Ive concluded that I can fit a 33x12.5 tire without rubbing. But has anyone tried a 35x12.5 tire? Theres a nice set of MT ATZ 35x12.5' in my town on craigslist for cheap. Im hoping I can zip tie my fenders and it will work.

Thanks

Thanks man, but unfortunately that doesn't help me at all because it doesn't have the plastic trim around the wheel well, and one of the reasons I started this thread.

There are all sorts of videos on how to do it with the little plastic piece that just fits on the bottom (like in that thread), but none that I've seen with the whole trim and indent.

No worries, I really do appreciate it. The trim difference has made it harder to search and find, too.
