Color matching

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. I'm new to this group and just wanted to get a little advice about color matching. I drive a 2007 GMC Sierra Classic (06 bodystyle), and I'd like to color match the grille, as well as the front and rear bumpers white. Just wondering what other people are doing to get the best results. I've heard people just sending the parts the professionals and having them do it, but I'd like to give it a try. I've read about people painting it themselves, and also read about people using plastic dip. What would be a good route to go? The bumpers are chrome and the grille and bumper covers are like a dark gray. Also I'd like to know how long are the results going to last. I don't want to have to keep doing this every so often. I'd like for it to last for years if possible. Thanks in advance!

Unless you have painting experience and a place to paint the parts, I think you just answered your question with this excerpt from your post. Better option would be to powder coat the chrome bumpers (most powder coatings can be color matched now)
