Cleaning black plastic on truck

Recommended Posts

After I wash the truck, the rear bumper looks like the first picture.

After I use Armorall, I get the results of the second picture.

What can I use to put on the plastic that will keep it looking good after I wash the truck?

I use maxima SC1, it is designed a motorcycle polish, but works great without leaving a greasy residue for dust to stick to. Just spray it on wait a few seconds then wipe the excess. Also won't hurt painted surfaces. Bonus it smells like cherries.

Mother's vlr works okay also, I've always hated armorall

Before you go and apply any kind of dressing, clean it very good. Take some good APC and scrub the crap out of it with a soft/med bristle brush. I used Adams before, but it was too pricey. I use LA's totally awesome at the dollar tree and it is only $1 for a 32oz bottle and works better than the Adams.

The Adams link isn't for APC. It's for their ceramic trim coating.
