Installing DiabloSport Intune i2030 on 2008 6.6 Duramax

Hoping someone could give me a tutorial on what to expect. I've bought and used DiabloSport products for years (with excellent results) on my own gas powered vehicle, Corvettes, Shelby's, Camaros etc, but this is a new one for me. My uncle owns a 2008 Sierra 6.6 Duramax and I'll be tuning his truck for him this weekend. He's not real comfortable doing stuff like this and since I've used their tuners for years, he's asked me for help. I have never done a diesel before.

 

My experience has been you plug it in, it recognizes the car and you select tune. It then downloads the factory tune, and then gives you the option to install a canned tune or custom tune. Is this is what's going to happen with the diesel?

 

Sorry to sound completely stupid, but I really don't want to screw anything up. This truck is his pride and joy.
