Passenger Seat Belt Warning

Recommended Posts

I have a 2017 Silverado 2500 HD Diesel LTZ. All of a sudden we noticed that if there is a passanger in the front and they have not buckled up, there is NO Chime. Pretty darn sure this is a normal function of most every vehicle. Not to mention that there is no manual way to disaable the Airbag System which I then believe there is a sensor in the seat to detect the presence of a passenger. So, if it's not detecting a passanger, it might not deploy the Air Bag. Dealership told me it's that way because its a WORK TRUCK. I'm thinking Hogwash on this excuse. Truck is at the dealership right now and I will look at the sticker to verify if it was a Work Truck or not, but still believe this is/should be a normal function on all vehicles. At least EVERY vehicle I have ever been in. Anyone have useful input on this?
