Pics of 1500s with tow mirrors

Recommended Posts

I'm kind of on the fence about it. Id like to see some too. I just wish it didn't look like Andrew Siciliano.....huge ears on a small person...I think it looks awkward. Unless you have a lift and tires that offset the width of the mirrors

The 1500's and 2500's hardly look any different body size wise. Tow mirrors on your truck would look great. The fords have a much bigger body size difference and that is where you see the goofy ear look.

I gotta say, the tow mirrors offer so much more visibility, especially since our trucks height and lengths allows cars to hide more easily in our blind spots. With the tow mirrors I have literally 0 blind spot

Exactly - only differences in body are the grilles - same cab - same doors - and no blind spot - I came from a 2500 and no way was I going to baby puny mirrors......... Put on your big boy pants.....

Trying to decide if I like the look of tow mirrors on 1500s, black and chrome, again cant decide

Upgrading mirrors has been a popular modification for decades. Earlier 1/2 ton pickups came from the factory with small car-like mirrors. I personally find the stock mirrors on newer trucks an ample size for safe driving when not pulling a wide load. Larger mirrors can obstruct some forward view (especially when turning on busy downtown streets) and they can be a nuisance when parking in tight spaces. I do like the looks of the towing mirrors with the built in lights and won't hesitate to switch to these when I buy a travel trailer!

What are you testing ?

The mirrors are from 1A Auto. Another member purchased these and sent them to me for testing. I made a custom harness for it to make them Plug and Play. These are power Folding, fully feature mirrors that also has Puddle lamps. The mirror connector had butt splices, so I cleaned it up and made it a Plug and Play solution.

Most I imagine are like me, I replaced the Stock mirrors with Tow mirrors because I tow with my Truck. Safety and being able to see behind you are a big deal when towing. If your doing it for looks...Meh..
