2017 2500HD Right rear oil leak ,Service stability control

Recommended Posts

I have just over 1500 miles on my 2017 HD crew. It's a great upgrade from my 2005 2500HD Crew. The last week I could smell a faint gear oil smell oustside the truck. I couldn't locate any leaks or low levels. Yesterday my service trailer/ stability control light came on. When I stepped out of the truck smoke and gear oil were coming from the right rear. I'm guessing the gear oil threw off the speed sensor causing the error? And I'm surprised to have a oil leak so soon. GM road side Sent a flat bed to take it 40 miles to the closest dealer from my driveway. Any suggestions?

Looks like there's a TSB i received in a email from Grandrud. It's for a 2014, not sure if it's for the newer models. There's also one for the diff bearings.
