Worked in a professional tint shop for many years and still know a few tinters,

15% with match the rears perfect, 20% will be a little lighter looking. You have to take into consideration of the large windshield allowing all the extra light transmission through the front

Tint shop can read it with a meter. Take into consideration driving in the dark early mornings and at night - hated 20% on my last rig when in the dark - this rig not bothering with tint because of that.........

I have had had 20% front, too dark for night time driving.

Installed 15% on this truck, much better nighttime. Put a meter on them couple weeks ago because NY state just changed rules again.

Fronts measure 28%, new rule states 70% light transmission.

The numbers relate to Visible Light Transmittance, or the amount of light allowed through the window.

20% is quite dark and allows roughly 18% of light through, 80% would be much lighter and allow roughly 78% of light through.

You should have 70% tint on the fronts right now which will pass the 70% of light through and be fine.

To answer original question, 20% fronts will closest match factory the rear windows.

FYI 15% is darker than the 20%. It only allows 15% light to pass , the lower the number the lest amount of light! So your only allowing 28% of the light through. So prob illegal
